Everybody list ideas/rudiments/beats/grooves or whatever that they are going to work on and then post their progress. At the end of the summer, Perhaps check back and see if you acomplished them =).

I want to get my doubles better. Like really good and strong.
I also want to to get a steady hardcore/powerpop band going and do some gigging.

And save up for a new 22" or 24" dream ride.

Well...

Since i am pretty much garunteed a spot at snare drum (someone has to learn for when the senior is gone) I really have to step up my game. I have to work on my reading skills and chops A LOT over the summer.
My Left hand is a little weak, so i really have to work on that.

So i am planning on trying to get ALL 40 rudiments up to atleast the Gold level (according to VF website) and a select few to high platinum low diamond (maybe.) And i am planning to really work on a lot from The Rudimental Cookbook.

And for set goals, right now i am on a good track with my progress (since my new teacher) So im just going to go with him, and try and get atleast 45 minutes to an hour of practice in a day (since i am not home every single day in the summer)

and gear wise, i really just want to replace my saluda crash.
a china would be dandy though.

To sock away enough money to finish off my home studio and record at least two albums. Also save up enough to replace my Iron Cobra double with an Axis longboard double, and rehead my drums, of course

Drumming wise, improve my hands a bit, play more metal, and hopefully teach myself how to gravity blast and be better at single foot blast beats.

Since this was my idea and i told Berk to do this, i'll contribute.

First: work through rudiments; speed, sight reading, knowledge, and application.

Second: record drums/music with my brother and work on EQing/mastering/generally recording.

Third: change my setup drastically because i've had the same one for the past 2 years.

I find it hard practising band songs or coming up with parts without the actual song to hear. We sometimes record a really bad recording then all go off and have ideas of what to do/play etc then come back and throw it all into a bit melting pot of music and... well mostly music tbh, at least that's the intention:confused:

But yeah goal is to become amazing at drums/

Or just practise a lot, I've not had enough time what with exams and such, so just practising rudiments etc and exercises and simple songs a lot, developing ideas, building it up, encorporate the new ideas into my playing, etc.

Or I might just go on holiday and go out in the sunshine.

Second: record drums/music with my brother and work on EQing/mastering/generally recording.

Third: change my setup drastically because i've had the same one for the past 2 years.

First: I've worked through all of them, not really on speed much, no sight reading, a little knowledge, but no application.

Second: I did record for a couple weeks but not much EQing, no mastering.

Third: Changed from a standard five piece to a 1 up 2 down which i am pretty fond of at the moment.

I definitely need to groove in some odd time signatures.

Also a semi-realistic goal: get a gig. I don't care who i play with, but play a show in front of people.

I worked on odd time signatures whilst jamming with my brother (guitar).

I did play a little show with some friends. It was for a "Harry potter party" for the last book coming out. I played for probably 40 people, it was pretty fun. Note: I only went to play music, i did not want anything to do with the harry potter books.
