Can anyone give me a quick overview on how to tune drums so they sound like this:

Or do you need special equipment to make those sounds? Thanks in advance.

I'm at school, so youtube is blocked, but...

If that's a song from an album, it's impossible to get those sounds through tuning as it's all done with EQ and such.

If it's a live performance... just try and tell if the drums are high or low pitched. Then go tune to that. Not hard at all.

Snares off , rimshot closer to the edge. Leave snare wide open and ringy

MONKEY MAN!!!!!.

And yeah they do.

As for tuning, they're tuned quite high, I never like his drum sound

On that video the snare is off, tuned somewhat high, but not cranked. All the toms seemed pretty low though.

The song works good enough with a snares on sound

Tune up the snare pretty high, let it ring out, use a metal snare, rimshot closer to the edge.
