I want you mother****ers to hit each other right at this point in the song because it is the heaviest part in the song and because you are all meatheads who enjoy the violence more than the music.

Sounds pretty good to me.

Did anyone actually give a serious answer?

I don't really know what a breakdown is, but I'm sure that it should have something to do with the rest of the song. Why would you just have a random line in the middle of a song...

Its the slowed down time in a song usually before the last chorus where the vocalist sings one line theat sort of sums up what the rest of the song is about or maybe he concludes the song with the one liner, but you can write a whole song around a one liner.

Making fun of modern punks again. I'm gonna make a song called "Uber Punx **** Off!" That'd be cool.

OK you little fu‪cker you don't come here to make fun of our job, if you want serious help, ask for it. Otherwise go throw yourself off a bridge and be fornicated by a horse.

Next time expect something more fun.

Like say, a timeout from the internet.

a breakdown can be a lot of things

it's just sad that it's basically thought of as shitty sections in shitty metalcore songs

Can we continue this thread without it being flamed?

DeadReligion
06-03-2007, 04:49 PM
Well...we COULD, I mean it's theoretically possible...but it just wouldn't be as fun.

Hbp

What is up with your obsession with punks? Punk Rock usually doesnt use breakdowns, so why do you bring that up in a breakdwon thread?

TojesDolan

Discuss other breakdowns, then.

The Saddest Day by Converge. I thought that was fact.

Hbp

I still dont think Converge use breakdowns. My choice would go to Dreaming In Dog Years by The Red Chord.

I'm pretty certain they are breakdowns in that song I said. Ask anyone who has heard that song.

"In bluegrass music, a breakdown is a specific type of instrumental with its own characteristic, such as other traditional types, Hornpipe, a Jig, or a reel dance from Traditional Irish music. Other examples are "Bluegrass Breakdown" by Bill Monroe as well as "Earl's Breakdown" and "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", both of which were written by Earl Scruggs."

I'm pretty certain they are breakdowns in that song I said. Ask anyone who has heard that song. I have every Converge release to date, I think i've heard the song. Yeah, there's a breakdown in The Saddest Day, but rearly ever anywhere else in their amazing music.

Converge don't use many breakdowns because they don't over-do it like so many other hardcore/metalcore bands.
