They tend to have decent ideas with just the most underwhelming execution ever. The music ends up sounding empty, missing either a strong low end, high end, or something to connect the two.

I don't mind the vocals at all, except for the end of Anchor Against Tempest, which made me go "lul, wot?"

And it's a shame because their guitarist has a tabit account and is actual a talented writer. For some reason it never comes through in Grey Lines, though.

Yeah I hear you, some of the music does leave you wishing they would have gone somewhere with it. Someone told me the music I've been writing recently is like a better Grey Lines which made me really happy because they were signed and stuff.

Yep, beloved is another band I've been binging on recently as well. On the Advent note, Advent is a completely different kind of band though so I didn't really expect them to carry on Beloved's sound.

Red Shores' ep is awesome, their demo they recorded before Damo died is their best though.

The last one was boring as hell, and the vocals really lack the passion.

they sound kinda like protest the hero or old human abstract, only more theatrical and epic, and with a wider range in vocal delivery

I'd personally see Maylene beccause I always miss them and Dallas Taylor is the ****ing man (and I've seen GOV already). For you I'd say catch GOV because they're not that big and don't have enough money to tour often, while Maylene and Clutch are both pretty well established, you know?

yes! saw them live when they toured with Coheed and The Fall of Troy. so good! Fallon is amazing live.

been listening to Hand To Hand's new album "Design The End Follow The Horizon" lately. pretty decent metalcore/post-hardcore band. a bit on the generic side but i like the vocals

The guy has a good scream, though. One-note, but it's a good note.

They're one of those "Above average generic bands that you don't seek out but don't turn off if they happen to be on" kind of bands for me. They inject melody into metalcore fairly well, and they have a decent ambiance.

band is so good. the physics of fire is definitely their weak, generic album. i just kind of imagine that it doesn't exist and Terminate Damnation and Dichotomy is all they have. =D
