Great band. Blends some interesting male and female vocals parts with some pretty moving sounds in the soft sections.
They are great, I just hope they can progress with their future albums.

Metridium Fields has some of the best cover art ever.
And it has some of the most interesting music ever.
Versus The Siren is an amazing song.

Giant Squid is cool. They don't do anything entirely creative, but their entire concept seems to be "if post metal was created in the 70's..." and I like that.

Yeah, they're cool...I helped set up their gear for SXSW..nice bunch of guys (and gal!). Metridium was one of my picks for best album of last year.
I only have Metridium Fields, but yeah, its badass. i need to check out some of their other work for sure

You probably won't find much, since the only other official release they've done is Metridium Field, which is just the original version of the album with lesser production to my understanding.

And for you Agalloch fans, Don Anderson is a big fan of theirs. :D

Agalloch + Giant Squid would be an epic show
They're both The End bands, so it may actually be possible, although GS obviously have some sort of hate for the Northwest. Bastards.

Haven't given it enough listening time really, but, MF is an awesome album.
Is it their only release?

I believe they have a demo/Ep type deal, but I haven't heard of anybody having it, so it could be either A) hard to find or B) a rumor.
But Victor, make sure to get Metridium Fields, plural.

I was planning on checking that album out anyway. Thanks for looking out for me though.
Awesome band, I'm still kicking myself for missing them when they were in town.

I've seen videos of their live performance, it sounds like they don't know how to set up a live rig. Sounded like ****.

They were pretty good at SXSW, but I'd rather listen to the album.

Yeah, their sound was decent at SXSW...although as far as bands I wasn't familiar with, Russian Circles definitetly stole the show that night. :) the Gathering was the most emotional for me because they're my favorite band, but Russian Circles were the secks. Green Carnation rocked, too, and of course Unexpect.

I didn't even watch Unexpect, I hate them. Russian Circles was as you said great. I wasn't at all familiar with Green Carnation at the time (I'm still really not), I'd only heard like 2 songs before, so I don't really even remember how good they were.
