I don't know if this band is progressive death, but try becoming the archetype

If you like Opeth, try some Orphaned Land. Specifically the album Mabool.

try some Edge of Sanity, Dan Swano, Between the Buried and Me (they have hints of it), and maybe Daylight Dies (more doom but are similar to opeth)

i almost forgot, November's Doom are pretty good as well...get their latest album

Indeed but oh well :P

Check out Farmakon too if you like Opeth. For heavier material Akercocke and Augury are ace.

novembre is more doom than progressive death... but some could classify it as prog death too.... though i would disagree

Well, Novembre are fairly similar to Opeth, so I figured ThePrimer would be able to get into them.

progressive anal leakage.
its hard after listening to BWP by Opeth that anyone could dislike them, or not at least acknlowledge their extraordinary ability to write great songs, but we'll leave that discussion for the opeth thread.
btw, check out my progressive death metal thread, and i recommend cynic, death, atheist, etc, maybe even sadus

I've heard of them, they just don't apply at all. There's nothing progressive about them whatsoever.

Orphaned Land.

But they are like alternative too so you may not like them because they are not tr00 enough

Orphaned Land - Mabool

Becoming The Archetype's "The Physics of Fire" is pretty good.

Between the Buried and Me (I don't consider them metalcore, so any disagreements can just be forgotten)

Anyway, that's stuff I like. Go ahead and check out Opeth for the heck of it.

I disagree about BTBaM.

Their metalcore is dwindling but it's there, but they can just as easily be mentioned in this thread.

No but really I think they are a good band.

All bodies' solo is amazing.

I'm not normally one to reuse jokes I've already made (haha irony, because I do) but I'll combine two into one for your viewing pleasure here:

The only thing extreme about Opeth is how extremely boring they are, and the only thing progressive about them is how they get progressively worse with each album they release.

Kage

I wouldn't worry about reusing jokes with that, because it's pretty much a stretch calling it a joke in the first place.

Stoic you may have just put into start the beginning of the end of life as we know it. It's all a chain of dominoes from there.
