None of these songs mentioned are flawless. There is no such thing as a flawless song.
Objectively yes, but i mean flawless in a personal and subjective sense. As in a song which in it's imperfect character works in a way that makes it feel like a perfect song to you.
Eliminator
05-30-2007, 02:28 PM
how can it be objective?
Meatplow
05-30-2007, 02:33 PM
Well perfection is a subjective thing, ones man trash another man's treasure etc. If you look at it objectively none of these songs are perfect because it's in the eye of the beholder only on a subjective level can a song be called perfect.
For example Joe might cite Hammer Smashed Face by Cannibal Corpse as the most perfect song in the history of music, Bob might reference Mood Indigo by Duke Ellington. Either one might absolutely abhor the other persons choice of song but fact remains to them it seems individually perfect. So looking at it from an outside perspective you might be inclined to say there can never be a perfect song if nobody can agree due to personal taste.

Haven't heard that song for ages, it's great.
I'm going to pine for the combination of Overture/It's A Boy/1921/Amazing Journey/Sparks/Eyesight To The Blind/Christmas/Cousin Kevin/The Acid Queen/Underture off Tommy by The Who, the rest of the songs are great but IMO taper off. These songs as the intro i can listen to forever.

I wouldn't use the word "flawed". Nothing is better than perfection, but some people have multiple songs that they would consider perfect, and yet they can like one of those songs better than they like another. Thus, music can not be perfect and if music can't be perfect, it can't be flawed.
