I think it's safe to actually call him a legend.

Great singer.

R.I.P.

Grace is one of the greatest albums of all time, beautiful album. Everytime i think about that story of how he drowned it sends chills up my spine, as at his funeral his family threw flowers in the water and they got swept away in the undercurrent of a passing boat... that is really sad.

RIP. Grace is a beautiful album, especially "So Real". He had a really nice, unique approach to songwriting and of course, the voice.

Yeah Allen, hook that up! I figure I should give him another chance, it's been a year or more since I last listened to him.

He was a inspirational singer to many, and had a truly beautiful voice.

he was pitch perfect too, really uncommon in todays world of music with so many tone deaf arrogant pretenders

^^^so true. RIP Jeff, i had a bad day yesterday and the first thing i did to forget all about it was put on Hallelujah....thanks

Weird, I just had his version of Hallelujah (the second best) pop into my head without knowing it was the anniversary.

He's pretty awesome, yeah. Grace is a great album/song. Too bad he didn't have a chance at a longer career.

Eh. He was almost always either flat or sharp, usually sharp, during live performances. Still great though.

heh, I remember many a time, when I was younger, spent trying to just reach some of his highest notes(Corpus Christi Carol anyone?), let alone sing them in any fashion that wouldn't destroy fragile matter.

He was a champion of a musician.
RIP, Jeff.

Well i don't know about that, but i did read about him being one of only a few musicians who were born pitch-perfect.

I could rant forever about how much i love jeff buckley...

If I could only be inspired by one musician, it would be this guy

4 years, and Grace is still growing on me
I didn't enjoy it at all, at first. Wich is almost laughable considering how much I love it now

PinkFreud
05-30-2007, 03:23 PM
Same. I really only bought it for Hallelujah but that changed.

um buckley definitely wasn't pitch-perfect

PinkFreud

Exactly. Anyone who's heard his live performances should know that.

out of tune performances sorry edited it

Knifeboy
05-30-2007, 03:38 PM
I really doubt he was actually trying to stay in tune in that performance..
Taken out of context of the whole show, that does sound quite bad though

Eternal Life is one of my least favorite Buckley tracks. I have that DVD and I agree that it's not good.

I love the live album/bootleg (idk) he did as Mystery White boy, especially the song 'What will you say'. it really is brilliant.

That performance makes it sound like a Korn song at parts.

That's an official live album.

yeah.. It's basicly Jeff Buckley trying to be metal, for two songs (the next one is Kick out the jams)..

I DO like the Road Version Eternal Life more than the normal one.

The scream at the end of So Real always gives me chills. Especially live.

Knifeboy

The scream he does on Dream Brother from mystery white boy, is one of my alltime favorite bits of music
