With the states in a mad rush to leapfrog each other to have the first important) primaries, I think it's time the FEC establishes a rotating schedule giving order and sensibility to the whole process.

Here's what it would look like:
First Tuesday of January, excluding January 1st:
NE state (excluding New York)
MW state
Third Tuesday of January:
WC state (excluding California)
SE state
SW state (excluding Texas)
MS state
First Tuesday of February:
New York/Texas/California
MW state
NE state
Third Tuesday of February:
New York/Texas/California
Two MW states
Two NE states
MS state
SE state
WC state
..And so on, until all states are accounted for. The states in the region would alternate order by election cycle. Breaking it up like this prevents one region from having too much sway, and also prevents the big 3 states from deciding who the president will be.
