View Full Version : Help! Can't Find the Best Sound I Ever Heard

I was introduced to punk by a roommate back in 1995. He was in a South Carolina punk bank called Catch 22. He started me out in some of the punk pioneers such as The Misfits and Sid Vicious.

As his taste changed while punk music was evolving, he exposed me to some awesome sounds such as Garden Variety, (early) Green Day, Screeching Weasel, Rancid so forth and so on.

Of all the punk bands he introduced me to, there was one that was simply some of the most amazing punk I'd ever heard. I've been itching to hear this band again, but I cannot remember their name. All I know is that they are clearly pop punk. I viewed the list of pop punk bands on wikipedia, but none of them rang a bell. Perhaps they never took their music above the underground...however, I can remember a few lyrics from some of their songs. Perhaps if I write the lyrics, some poster in this forum will recognize who this band is and point me in the direction of tracking down some of their stuff...

Well, here are some of their lyrics...

"I feel sinking on the rise, elevation from your eyes. My son how could you ever know?"

"Playing in the backyard wishing I could forget, running through the sprinklers until I'm soaking wet."

"Whatever happened to me and my white trash friends? They got sick of me and I got tired of them."

"A mirror image of a silver sky. Bread and wine and turpentine built this country to the sky."

“I can see that clearly now every time I look into that mirror image of a silver sky.”

"Itsy bitsy spider sat down beside her and whispered in her ear."

I know this is a bit random. All of these lyrics are from one album. If any of this rings a bell...please help!

Thanks.

The band is called Sicko.

Next time, try searching the lyrics on Google.

I've tried a lyrics search countless times and nothing ever came up.

Thanks for the help. I've been searching for months!

Haha, that's odd. I searched parts of a couple of the lyrics you posted, and a bunch of different lyric sites came up.

Glad I could help. :)

They were great! Probably one of the original pop punk bands created in South Carolina...If I can find one of their old records, I'll upload it and post it!!!

Now that I'm on their site, I can see that I jacked some of their lyrics up...lol

Hey, I didn't do too badly for remembering something I heard 12 YEARS AGO!!!

No Alzheimer’s here.

I also forgot that they punkefied the Indigo Girds "Closer to Fine."

Sorry Airic... since this is my first punk forum, I was afraid that I would make some "newbie" mistakes. I'm a big poster over on www.Sherdog.com. It took me forever to learn their forum personality...

Since it's S. Carolina and not Jersey I'm iinclined to say no.

Yeah,
If the South Carolina band that I brought up had made it big, someone would have had to change their band name....

The S.C. band broke up... But their legacy was made....they made me a fan of punk.
