Now living abroad, but formerly an Aussie, who here has heard of him?

He has amazing independence and in my view is the master when it comes to Multi Pedal Orchestration, which Thomas Lang goes into on his DVDs.

Its amazing someone as good as Chris is not widely known, especially considering the guys he's influenced!

I saw him perform in Sydney a few years back. T'was very cool.

Saw him in sydney in 2005 at the Australian Drummers Festival. He signed a drum skin I brought... well signed as in wrote stuff for me to practice which I could never play... like 7 way independance :P

He's insane.

he is an awesome drummer, i saw him live at a drum festival in geelong

he played the intro to "hot for teacher" by van halen which was really good to see live

Aaaaah aussie thread. What you think of the VB mid-strength?

Chris Brien is great, so technical. Love his use of hand-percussion in a kit setup.

I am guessing you are talking about the beer, I think it is great though in a comparison I do prefer carlton draught mid-strength

also does anyone like grant collins, imo he is australias best solo drummer

I think you'll find that's where I saw him. Sydney is so cold that time of year :/

But yeah will hopefully be going to this years one. Did you go to the Thomas Lang or Steve Smith clinics? I went to both. It was great because I saw Thomas Lang on friday night in Brisbane, flew down saw him and Steve on the weekend then saw Steve in Brisbane on the monday I think.
