I'm sure this has been done before by countless other drummers, but I've never really seen it anywhere, and I was wondering if anyone else on here ever tried it. I was playing around on my set earlier and decided to try and play something with double bass and chick the hihat with my left foot at the same time. So I played a straight 8th note pattern and put my left foot half on the hihat pedal and half on the slave pedal on my double pedal. It was actually pretty cool. Then I started messing around doing something like this:

H |o-o-o-o-o-o-|
HF|-x-x-x-x-x-x|
S |---o--o--o--|
B |oooooooooooo|

It's not that hard or anything, and I'm not sure if I would ever actually use it for anything. I just thought it was kind of a cool idea. Any thoughts?

It's called pedal bridging.

Go watch Thomas Lang....he does it quite a lot.

^ Yeah, Lang does it all the time.
I dont really like it because I just dont think they work together.

It can...just gotta be creative.

If you look in the April ROTM thread I posted a thing on pedal bridging with paradiddles which was quite well received.

 See I knew people had done this before. I'm not stupid enough to think I'm the first to do it ever. I just was looking for some more info, opinions, whatever. Thought it would be a cool discussion.

Reinert does some sick pedal bridging on Cynic's Focus.

I can't get enough of the drumming on that album
