so I just put on new heads, and got the drum in a good position a few days ago(clear ambs). I already have a few dents in them!! Could this be bad technue(sp), Or is my comfy almost flat toms to flat?
bad technique. flat toms are the best way to have it. your problem is due to bad technique.

Thats a technique problem. You need to get that looked at before you buy new heads.

Also, if you're playing with wooden tips, make sure you don't have huge chips out of them, the harsh angle left from a chip can easily dent a head.

Either technique or you're tuning your heads way too low. You're not going to get a low boom out of a 10" tom, and you shouldn't try. That's why you have the other larger tom(s). If you have it at least around a medium tuning, then you are either hitting way too hard or you're using some seriously dense and heavy sticks.

Ambs are a single ply head, so any overplaying will dent them easier than a 2-ply, especially if tuned low like wesm said. Denting often comes from hitting the head at a bad angle, so check your tom angles in relation to the angle your stick hits.
