OK, guys, something is very wrong with the scottish goverment (and no, its not alex Salmond).
There all all these problems in the world, right?
Poverty,
Wars,
Alex Salmond,
Scotland having the biggest heroin problem in europe,
debt,
etc,
all that stuff.
And the council decide to spend £600 on my band to RECORD AN ALBUM!
Poor sods who could have used the cash, but now my band gets a free album recorded!
Just thought I'd share that to you guys, and say soon you'll hear my band.

A soundman I knew told me about the Rural Touring Comission, and e-mailed the forms and things. I spent a few days filling out the forms, and then sent it away with a demo of the old band's recording and action plans and stuff.
The final deadline for our area was about 3 weeks ago, but maybe if you check around there will be soemthing like it for you.
short skirts help too :P I reccomend sending one in a big envelope.

Stuff like that isn't exclusive to Scotland, it's everywhere. Our ministry of culture gave one of our entries into the European Songfestival 60.000 euros for publicity. She ended up one of the last in a pointless waste of money that only serves to attain prestige.
But this isn't really the forum to discuss it. I suggest taking this to the Politics & World forum.

I'm guessing one of the mods could move it for you.

Did you you go down on them and ask for it or what ?
Fixed :smash:
Just kidding. Seriously now, i'm guessing it's something similar to a system over here where you apply for government support and if it gets approved, they'll subsidize you. The prerequisite of course having the potential to become a big act.

The amount of things you can get the US government to pay for is absolutely ludacris. Don't believe me? Look at all the welfare families that don't have a single family member who can hold a job and yet they're living just as well as someone like me who is college educated and works 40 hours a week. I can think of 2 families like that just in my neighborhood!!!!
If the government can fund a family's entire life, then why shouldn't they give some free cash to me and my hooligan bandmates to record :p

indeed. a friend of mine, (well, not anymore), declared himself "insane." got evaluated by an institution, then was declared "legally insane" after clearly bullshitting them. now the government basically pays him not to work. rent - paid for. food - for. etc.
stupid.

hell if i know. i guess the first step is to get multiple alcohol/drug offenses and have a psychiatric evaluation done, then get committed to an asylum.
