That is one of the more boring songs to play on Guitar Hero 2.
Also, why tune to drop D when you can play Dillinger Escape Plan in standard?!

Hey, you can always expect me to drop that album for absolutely no reason. :p
Also, rumour has it that Chris Pennie left/was kicked out of DEP to play with Coheed and Cambria. Seriously, wtf? I was excited for their new album because it was suppose to be Calculating Infinity-esque because they are reclaiming their "tech thrown" or something like that, but I don't know how it is going to sound without Pennie, now! :upset:
Eh, that would suck. Chris Pennie is so awesome.

1) You're on crack. That song is fun as hell to play on guitar hero, as long as you aren't playing on easy.
2) Because then you'd have to play songs by the Dillinger Escape Plan, and you'd give yourself a headache.

Why does it have to be in Drop D?.
And what genres are you looking for? theres many to cover.
If you want a more heavyer and still "groovey" id suggest Rage Against the Machine, like others have stated.
Killing in the name,Take the Power Back are two good ones to start with.
And depends by what you mean by "fun",if your just starting and want simple songs,or technical peices, which can all be fun.

Ok, first of all thank you for the recommendations, even the ones I'm not really looking for.
And to answer some of the questions:
I'm heavily into post-rock and metal. While I like listening to post-rock, it seems like it would be less fun to actually play. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, any jazz bass lines (even if I don't know the song) that are just really groovy I find really fun to play.
My favorite bands: Isis, Muse, NIN, Dream Theater, Circa Survive, The Mars Volta, Dredg, Mastodon, Thrice, Tool, Anathema, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Explosions in teh Sky, Darkest Hour, Deftones, System of a Down, Incubus. I'll leave it at that since that's about my top 20 (on last.fm anyways).
Something I always have trouble with is hearing the basslines within a song (especially with metal since the guitar is often heavily-distorted and covers up the bass [see: Dillinger Escape Plan]), so I'm looking for songs I can easily hear the bass to (although it's not an absolute necessity).
I'm looking for Drop-D specifically because that's what my bass is currently tuned in, I don't know that many songs in D-D, and I want to expand my playing a bit.
As far as what's "fun" to play, I mean I want something that isn't just a simple riff over and over. I'm not THAT great (i.e. the main riff of Muse's New Born is a bit difficult for me just because of the stretch) but if something is a bit difficult I can usually play it over and over and perfect it eventually. I've basically had my bass for a year and a half or so and play very casually.
Again, thanks for the help guys.

Yeah, it was a rumour that some kid found over on LambGoat, brought it over to the BTBAM board, and so on and so forth. I don't think anyone actually knows what's happening at the moment.

There is the thread if you want to sift through it.

1) I played it on medium. I just started playing it, since I have owned the second one for a while, but have never played it. We shall see if it becomes more fun.
2) DEP songs from Calculating Infinity are so much fun to play, as long as you can gain a feel of them. I never cared for their other albums, so I don't know what playing along to those are like.
I am so excited for DEP's new album, which comes out in September. :D

I'm sorry, but "mathcore" makes me hate life. It'd definitly be up the threadstarters alley, since he's already stated that he likes them. They are an awesome band, it's just that style of music drives me nuts.
