My band is in the process of buying new equipment that will be suitable to bigger venues. All of the guitarists and bass player have half stack amps. Their half stacks alone have been suitable as far as volume goes up until now. We are getting to the point where we are going to be micing drums and the guitar amps, but the question is, is what about the bass amp? Do you mic it? Do you just run it through a DI Box and straight into the PA. The bass player would like to plug into his amp so he can control his sound from the stage, but how do we go about running the bass through the whole PA System?

This is just a question of Mic v. DI, both of which are acceptable. I prefer to have my bass DI'd, but I know people who like them Mic'd as well.

You run it from there (DI or Mic, whichever his preference) into the PA. Simple.
