So I play an open mic in Trenton, New Jersey every monday night, and this guy MCs. He pulls out his bass every once in a while and goes crazy. He tells me he once met Victor Wooten and beat him in a bass battle, and with his playing, it could be believable. Anyways, somebody got him on video and put on Youtube, so for your viewing pleasure, I present Jo:

It's on South Broad? Wow no **** my Uncle lives right down the road from Independence Plaza. Which side of South Broad is it on though, because the one near me is the side with Hamilton High West...

By the way have you ever been to Russo's Music?

It's the bar right next to the Conduit, which recently shutdown. You can't miss the sign for the Conduit, though. I haven't been to Russo's music unless that is the small shop on Pennington that overcharges everything...

Nah it's down near White Horse Circle...near Yardville. I had no idea the Conduit closed, a few bands I was friend's with always played there. 40 Below Summer used to play there all the time before they got relatively famous :upset:

My guitar teacher's band played the closing show, Disciples of Groove...

449 has really picked up over the past few months, though. I started going there in January when there was only 6-8 people showing up. The crowd has jumped to about 30 now. They also have blues jam night on Wednesday which just started a month ago and is in dire need of people coming to check it out. That goes from 7-10...

Ahh you're kidding me mapquest tells me this place is only 20 minutes from me. Do you think they'd let my fusion band play there?

MadeyAdamz

that would be tight

If you could keep the drumset small I'm sure they'd go for it. It's not a very strict environment, everybody is there basically to hang out. I know I'd kill to see a fusion band play there, and I'd love to jam with people that know what they are doing...

I think the tone issue may have had something to do with the video camera. I don't wanna take anything away from the guy, nice chops. Could have ended the video before the little speech though.

impressive, but could have done without the speech

I've actually jammed with this guy, and in a band context, he is incredibly musical and has a natural rhythm like you cannot believe. This video is him just keeping the crowd interested between people going off and coming on...

maybe victor was thinking to himself "this guy is such a tool" so then he just left, and the guy thought he won

Had a cool bit. Beginning was wank, the guy is clearly a tosser. But kinda funny, he seems like he could be the man.

I guess there's the guy from Tera Melos. They are from Roseville, CA, and I live like 2 minutes away, but they never play here. They are always touring. Then there's my buddy he plays for a band called From Pluto.

I didn't know there were so many people close to me on MX...

I go to TCNJ, but I live at home in south jersey during the summer...

I know a few people who go to TCNJ, one guy at my school at La Salle transferred back from TCNJ to La Salle after a semester there. Plus, TCNJ is like right in my backyard.

I didn't know so many people lived close either. Go figure

As Havic said, impressive but boring.

When the novelty of doing a bunch of tapped arpeggios at high speed wears off you notice there isn't much actual musical content. The actual melodic part was played in quite a staccato fashion which took away a lot from it.

His tone was awful but that is largely due to the camera and compression ratio, in the room it might sound pretty good.

He has chops but from the looks of things also has an ego with its own gravitational field.
