Not that that really determins if the music is good or not, but what do you think the most intense band is? Mine would be:

Glassjaw
Converge
Love Like... Electrocution
Swing Kids
Orchid
Saetia
I Wrote Haikus about Cannibalism in your Yearbook
Phoenix Bodies

Why is Glassjaw on there?

I'll agree with Phoenix Bodies since they are ****ing insane. Orchid is good too obviously though they sort of dropped the chaos thing towards the end.

I know Glassjaw and Converge arent screamo, but they are both insane :D

Also, I forgot Usurp Synapse and Reversal of Man. Both of those guys are incredibly intense.

i wouldn't call glassjaw screamo because of they're lack of constant screaming.

No one does chaos quite like Off Minor.

It's so structured but so chaotic.

Same for Ampere.

Not Chaotic enough for me. Everyone check out Deadseraphim.

EDIT: Meant not chaotic enough for this list.

phoenix bodies of course, and also la quiete for me. that band has some of the most beautiful lines. i think a lot of the chaos comes from most of the recordings ive heard by them being really rough. chiming guitars and cymbals high in the mix. another fave being the 44th second of in love with an apparation by pg.99. sheer passion.

I wouldn't say they're the most intense or chaotic but talking of screamo bands i'm really loving Daitro at the moment.

old sk00l The Crinn - http://thecrinn.com/Red%20lips%20tell%20bloody%20secrets.mp3
Jonny Peterson - best (living) vocalist right now?
but most of you probably wouldn't call them screamo. they play like... errr... jazzy grindcore/mathcore/emoviolence or summat like that.
I don't use the term screamo. it's too vague (sum people use it to describe all punk rock featuring screamed/shouted vocals, whilst others use it to describe well produced and generic emocore with screamed/shouted vocals, in contrast to emoviolence which usually is lo-fi and more chaotic). besides - I find it useless. I just use emocore and emoviolence, depending on how violent the band is :p

oh - and even though not featuring much screaming - Antioch Arrow. they're as theatric, dramatic, complex, chaotic, violent and insane as possible.

I'm sorry. but I'm neither as scene or as cool as "you", so I say emocore.

No it's a redundant phrase since emo is emotional hardcore so to say emocore would be to say emotional hardcore hardcore.

Also get your panties out a bunch he was just saying what is commonly said on this board.

Actually, no I'm not sure, but it would not surprise me.

Jeromes Dream was a 3 piece screamo band active from 1997 to 2001. They had a key role in the emo-violence scene. JD was famous for never using a vocal mic during live performances. It is rumored that during their recording sessions, the vocal mic was placed on the floor.
Because Jeff never used microphones during live shows and rehearsals he was usally bent over behind his amp at live shows puking up blood the strain on his chords were unbelievable.
