i really like Minus the Bear and Chin Up Chin Up. just the way they have that really free, airy kind of sound. can anyone recommend bands like that? like, similar to those two?

thanks, PEACE.

Well Chin Up Chin Up tend to mimic Wolf Parade pretty heavily, so try them if you somehow haven't before.

I kinda use the word 'dreamy' as well to describe what your saying, but that does sound abit gay. Erm, this is such a standard recommendation but back in the day I really digged Bloc Party's first record for those kinda reasons, I see some parrallels between them and MTB. I also really dig the Dandy Warhols for their dreamyness, they are so chilled on ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down, but maybe that isn't what you're after.

Air.

hahah I KNEW someone was goign to do this

they are a very amply titled band though so if you want an airy sound, Air is a good place to go. but anyways i think you would like Stereolab and Ms John Soda

if you like MTB check out The Jazz June. i dont know if they match the "airy" quality of Minus but they do have that "cool nighttime summer urban" feeling i suppose.

i always thought The Shins were really airy but thats in a derogatory sense. theyre too fluffy like marshmallows

i had "We Should Have Never Lived Like We Were Skyscrapers" on my computer, but i delete CD's after burning them because i can hardly hold anything.
search them on myspace, the song "Why is my Sleeping Bag a Ghetto Muppet" is amazing.

EDIT: thanks for all the suggestions guys! i've heard air, sigur ros, bjork, and all that before, of course, but as for everything else i'm gonna attack soulseek for all this when i get home tonight.

my bloody valentine all the way.. they're like alternative airy?
and also very good to listen to while expanding your mind.. if you're into that kind of thing.

i always considered them more fuzzy than airy. fuzz weighs more than air
