Andrew Hill has died at the age of 75. Never seems like he got enough credit for his music, he was one of the greats of the avant-garde jazz movement. Anyone who hasn't heard Point of Departure should get on it, I can upload it later. I feel lucky to have seen him last October. Rest in peace.

Are you kidding me? I just had a long conversation with a guy on the bus, and one of the main topics was Hill. Neither of us ever got to see him perform. This is really really sad.

Jazzyfeets: I would really appreciate if you uploaded Point of Departure.
He's one of those artists that I've heard about forever and have been meaning to get an album by him, but just haven't had the time or the incentive.

go buy it, if you REALLY wanted to hear it you'd spend $10.

Damn, didn't know he died. I really liked his style. I'll definitely be buying some more albums of his in the future.

My conscience is at ease because the albums I have I dloaded before he died and dont feel bad abouts it, then again posthumous dloadds are more logical cuz he wont need the money

One of the best. Point of Departure and Black Fire are two of my favourite albums ever. R.I.P.

Not to take away from Hill or anything, but Point of Departure has some just completely badass Tony Williams moments on it. He really shines on that album.
