So, No Heroes

Opinions on Converge's newest effort? Most people I know don't like it, preferring Jane Doe or Petitioning the Empty Sky, but I like it. Then again, I've liked everything past Caring and Killing, and even some tracks on that and Halo In A Haystack are good. They just need to stop making music videos. They're horrible, and Converge doesn't need them, anyways.

It's not really an album, but I listen to Unloved and Weeded Out a lot. Home Song is simply amazing.

It's a thousand times better than You Fail Me, but I am still a bigger fan of Petitioning The Empty Sky and Jane Doe. The vocals are kinda weird on this one, but it doesn't detract from the music.

You Fail Me is a pretty sick album. In Her Blood is a great song.

There are so many good riffs on it and the drumming is really great.

Grim Heart Black Rose sucks though and some of the later tracks are a bit iffy, but overall a great album.

My favorite Converge album is Jane Doe, but I think You Fail Me and No Heroes are close enough behind it to consider them all favorites. I'm still getting into their older stuff, I'm working on When Forever Comes Crashing at the moment.

Beyond the fact I enjoy that I can decipher Jake's vocals, I find the songs on that album to be among their most intense.

No Heroes is good, but definitely a big letdown from YFM and Jane Doe. "Bare My Teeth" is so heavy though, favorite track.

Someone put this album on when I was in the car with them, and I just couldn't enjoy it. I didn't think it was all that great, as well as I was pretty bored by it.

I should probably give it a proper listen, though.

Drop Out packs a punch, especially the end. I pretty much enjoy the first half of YFM the most. The second half is okay but it kind of dwindles a little bit.

It's growing on me as of late. I first i really disliked it. The title track is really good, as are the first four opening tracks. But Trophy Scars and Plagues really bring it down. The riff in Plagues is so irritating, i'm sure it would have sounded better without the octave effect too.
