Presenting exhibit #1:

Avril Lavigne - 'Girlfriend'

http://www.resonatormag.com/music/remix/11/avril_lavigne-girlfriends.mp3

The first single from Avril's new album manages to rip off the beats from 'Mickey' and 'Hollaback Girl' simultaneously, even though they're not that similar to begin with, and generally combine the dumbest aspects of all the worst song ever into one in a momentous feat matched only by my amazement at actually liking the track

Avril Lavigne - 'Alone'

http://www.zshare.net/download/alone-kevipodmusic-blogspot-com-mp3.html

The complete opposite of the above with a kind of a New Pornographers bimbo-indie thing to it. Best song on the album isn't on the album.

So use this track to discuss other such b-side events where the actual single pales in comparison. No need for mp3s but go nuts with lists

Like, all of Oasis' B-sides. Or maybe like 2, but whatever.

hmm... whatever that was Fall Out Boy's B-side album was better than their non-acoustic counterparts.

I don't understand why we still call them "b-sides" now that records (and an actual place for a b side) are a longtime thing of the past.

Anyway, Alone is pretty good. Avril has done better, and she's not that good to begin with, but "girlfriend" is probably the worst pop song in the past 1,000,000,000 years

Muse's b-sides are often better and are some of the best work they've done.

For example Fury is a lot better than Sing For Absolution. The Groove is ALOT better than time is running out.

Michael Jackson's B-sides are awesome, it's a wonder some of them didn't make their respective albums.

Idlewild's b-sides from when they started up to all The Remote Part singles are all great pretty much without exception

Oasis B-sides are usually better than the A-sides, like the Masterplan album is one of their best.

I agree Muse B-sides are really great, I would definitely buy an album of their Bsides if they were released.

"The Masterplan" is an Oasis B-side, and also one of their best songs.
