Man, his drums in the studio ( on the interview clip from his DVD ) sound awesome. Toms, snare, bass drums, just gorgeous. Anyone know what snare that is? DW I guess, but model? It's incredibly articulate and the rimshots sound sweet as hell.

Can that kid not afford clothes?
I dunno about VicFirth. But "showing off" that 135 lbs of ripped body is... ok ya, lame. Put a Flippin shirt on.
Ok watching the videos...
Watched the second one. The mix was crummy. The music worse.. I felt like I was in an elevator, but going down.
If I wantted to watch Dennis Chambers play, I'd just go watch Dennis Chambers.
TRJ - A great example of who you know.

Stop picking at small parts of it and focus on the playing...which was fantastic. That's the point of the thread after all

Now this one really blew me away. I actually find him more refreshing than chambers. I'm quite bored of dennis chambers playing now.

What is with you ripping on people's fashion sense. Omg he's wearing a tank top! Get over it. Calling someone 'lame' for wearing something you don't like is childish.
I didnt like the mix on the 2nd vid, way too much reverb. But his playing is pretty good, he isn't by any means my favourite player, but he's definately talented.

^Agreed. Nice comment about the elevator music, too bad it was already on the video comments, way to be original jos. Do you have some personal vendetta against TRJ? Every time he comes up, you're so quick to insult his playing/looks/etc. I'm not saying he's the greatest thing to happen to drumset since Vinnie, but I would still venture that he's a pretty darn good player.

And at what point did Josiah claim he was better than TRJ?

Why are you defending him? I was merely posing a question to him about why he seems to have a problem with TRJ.
Hmm, I dont like his style. He doesnt do ghost notes on the snare really. If he did it would appeal to me alot more, you can add tons of feel to it! He's just so mechanical it has no feel.
But very technical and classy playing, fits the job! :thumb:

Josiah is gay in denial. Thats why he's so abrasive towards peoples fashion sense and gets angry when he sees a topless Tony Royster jr. It's obviously because he can't handle the harsh reality of his true sexuality.
Anyway, TRJ is a good player but not really my kinda thing.

Haha I didn't read the comments on the video, it was just my impression.
Well we do judge people by how they look, I can't wear a tank top to most my gigs, I'd be told to put a shirt on, or leave. It's considered Unprofessional.
Sorry, next time I'll use more politcally correct language. And no, I just thinkit's funy people whoopla over a given. Take rich parents, who know people, give a kid private lessons from DC, for years. Goodness, he grew up sounding nearly identical. Hmmmm...

It's a live solo...there can't not be a lot of reverb.

Well, it sounded it. Echoey then :p
EDIT: On second thought, why can't there be reverb? Like, the sound is reverberating?
