Hey peoples,
Having been away for a while i thought i'd come back for a few weeks :)
I'm liking the rudiment of the month idea by the way!
Anyway, heres whats happeneing with me...
Over the easter holidays i had some friends over to jam, i downsized my kit so i could move outside when we had good weather and im remembering a real liking for smaller kits heres some pics
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/ausey/mxpic.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/ausey/SD530228.jpg
I've been practicing my mixing skills on pro-tools with the basic digi-rack plug-ins and demos of waves plugins. I think im improving.
Also i bought some new monitors for my imac a pair of actice tannoy reveal monitors which cost about £200. Work great as hi-fi and monitoring speakers if anyone is looking for a decent pair of monitors.

Anyway, il stick around for a few weeks and help out where i can and contribute a lot of people are talking about MXDP becoming a joke and i hate for my favourite drum forum to be called that so i thought i'd do my bit.
Anyway, keep on drumming guys

What hats are those? 2oo2 sound edges?
Satisfied with the monitors? Post some audio, i'm curious.

I hope you're not talking about the hats because i swear those are the red 2oo2 logos.

the hats are 2oo2s. Kit looks nice, and fun to play on too! Do you have any audio of the mixes you've done?
They are 2oo2's =/
Set-up ftw. And the snare..

Righty, erm...
I can't find a frequency response curve for you chippy, the model is Tannoys "Reveal 5 Active studio monitors" if you want to do a more thorough search for one
I suspect you want to know he reason why i bought them.
Reasons being:
-The music college i study at uses the passive versions of these speakers and i adore them
-Music tech gave these speakers 9.5/10 and some excellence award
-All the tech specs meet what i need
Zildjian:
Yes, my kit is set-up next to the 'family' computer for the time being and my brother (who's in the wheelchair) just happened to be using it.
The paistes aren't sound edges, they are heavy 2oo2's. I always thought black label 2oo2's were rare not the red labels.
They remind me of my zbt's a bit too much, i can hear the similarities in the material they are made of. Great hats, but i would like something a bit crunchy-er and not so bright. I've got my eye on the hhx stage hats at the moment :)
I'l put some mixes up later on today
Cheers for the feedback guys :thumb:
EDIT: If anyone is interested in the 2oo2's i'd be happy to sell them to you through ebay. Posting to the US shouldn't be a problem either

Beautiful kit man! I love playing 3pce setups aswell as 4pce. Your cymbals look great and i can't wait to hear them. Nice mac & speakers too! I'm looking to buy an iBook or iMac sometime in the future.

How much would you want for them? Also do they sound anything like that sound clip that's on the Paiste website for the 2oo2 Heavy Hats?

Indeed how much would you like for them, coz if you don't put them on ebay I could send you a cheque for them. If that would be ok?

If anyone wants to make me an offer then go ahead.
But i'd rather just have an ebay auction and you guys just bid.
That way its secure and you can send a cheque if you want
Also the hi-hats sound very similar to the 2oo2 heavy 14" hats on paiste.com
Specs of my kit
22x16
16x16
14x5.5 highwood 10ply birch shell
Paiste 2oo2 heavy hi-hats 14"
Istanbul nostalgia mehmet crash ride 19"
Istanbul mehmet crash 15"
Vater 7A sticks with ball-tips
If anyone wants to know about heads and hardware il post them if you want to know.

That is cool Austin. I like it a lot.
We can be iMac buddies too :chug:
Wasn't it you who applied to DrumTech too? What happened with that? What you gonna do instead? Gonna still pursue drumming/music production etc or take a different route altogether?

Yer man, imac4life!
Yer i did apply to drumtech and went to the interview.
I applied to the 3year bmus course and found the requirements very difficult.
They grade you on your sight-reading there so buck-up your skills on that Rudiments didn't seem too much of a big deal. But co-ordination did
I'd love to make a career out of drumming but the security of a job like that isn't great.
I've always thought i'd work in the music industry ever since i left high school but certain aspects of the career path scare me and don't sound like what i want to be doing.
I won't stop playing though, it was a bit of a confidence blow but that would happen to anyone.
If you want to know anything else then give me a shout :)
£80 and I can confirm payment if you're up for not puttin em on ebay.
Well, i'd much prefer to put it on ebay anyway so i can put your reserve of £80 on it so if anyone is prepared to pay more then its an option. But if they don't sell you can have them for £80
I got them dead cheap for what i paid and i was hoping to make a figure a little closer to making my money back

I'l check them out when i next can :thumb:
My yammie got sold a few weeks before xmas
I made like £120 profit on it (but it did put new heads on it)
P.S Cheers for the rep guys :thumb:
