Alright, lets get two things out of the way.

1) I have the attention span of a retarded squirrel.
2) My computer specs are as follows:

AMD Athalon 3000+ 2.0 Ghz
510 MB Ram
Radeon 9250 128 MB
200 GB HD

So, certainly not the best system.

That being said, I've stopped playing WoW and I've began my search for a new game. On Friday I picked up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and it doesn't work (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500803&page=41 for an explanation). Last night I went and returned it and picked up F.E.A.R. It works, but I'm really not impressed with the game, and it seems really choppy (maybe it's my computer, I don't know). So, now I'm stuck.

I doubt they will let me return it again, even if I do work there, so I'm probably only going to get a 'trade-in' value from it. I was leaning towards the following...

Oblivion
Dark Messiah
Half Life 2
Bioshock (When it comes out)
Titan Quest

So, my question for you guys is..

i) Can I even run any/all of those games?
ii) Should I just tough it out with F.E.A.R. and wait for Bioshock
iii) If no for number ii, what one would you recommend.

Thanks, guys.

If you can't play F.E.A.R. half decently then you don't stand much of a chance with Oblivion or Dark Messiah, Half Life 2 is the best option for you I think. It runs fairly well on lower spec machines and it's probably the best game in that list.

Should it be able to run though?

you will be able to run it methinks, and counter strike source which seems less demanding than hl2 to a certain extent.

i would cross bioshock off that list though.

It'll tell you whether or not your rig can run a game.

You really need to upgrade your RAM and graphics card.

Lucky me, all the games I want to play there are out or coming out for the 360 :D

Orange Box HL2 ftw!

Yeah definately half-life 2, its a great game...i never really liked Oblivion. Everyone else obsessed with it, I thought it was boring

You really just need a whole new PC.

Get HL2 not only is it the best game ever, but it scales for old PCs really well.

I wouldn't get Dark Messiah unless you've played oblivion to death.

Both good games though.

However SERIOUSLY more ram and a new graphics card

that should be more of a priority than playing games ;)

unless...

have you played HL1 yet?
