I really do think kevin was good but he got kindof boring. I'm really digging their new bassist and their second drummer thing right now - adding Big Business. If the new guys stick around for another good record i think they will be my favorite.

Are the Melvins kind of like Nomeansno?

Whats their best stuff?

didn't the Melvins and the Cows share a bassist? I know they've shared members. The Cows bassist is cool anyway.

Kevin was in Tomahawk for cryin' out loud! he's the man. the Sunn O))) bassists (Preston and Deutrom) are cool as well.

Mark D. was great.

They're kind of like Nomeansno, BTW, in the sense that they don't stick to traditional song writing. But they're a lot heavier and some of their albums aren't punk at all.

Houdini and Bullhead (it's doom metal though) are my favorites.

Rutmanis is just awesome in general. I hope Jared Warren is permanent though, because he's powerful as ****, as Big Business will attest to.

Lorax played on their best albums, but wasn't the best bassist IMHO.

I liked Rutimantis, but the new guy kicks *** also.
Shame you punks don't listen to the Melvins, and Skrunnch, Get Houdini and Stoner Whitch.

Trevor Dunn was probably the best bassist to ever play for the Melvins, but not BECAUSE he played for them (it was just for some live shows anyway).

That's the truth.

Other than that, I enjoyed Preston's work. The Big Business dude sounds like the one for them, though. (A) Senile Animal is brilliant.

Yeah, it's pretty old news. I don't remember if I've heard it or not.
