Anyone else hate Carlos Mencia? [Archive]

A while back I saw his stand up on Comedy Central and I thought he was pretty funny. Now after seeing that he pretty much steals all other comedians material i can't stand him. Even if it is his own material, his show isn't funny at all. Now they have that show called Are you smarter than a 5th grader, and what's he do? He puts a bit on his show Whose smarter than a wetback? That one was obviously making fun of the show but its still just another idea that he didn't think of. The only thing he ever did to make me laugh was the Brokeback Mountain parody, thats it. If you wanna see esxamples of material he stole just type in Joe Rogan Carlos Mencia on Youtube and you'll see. What a jackass.

His point is that he didn't know the material was stolen and thought it was funny, but now that he knows it was stolen, he hates the guy. It's not cool to hate Ned, it's right to.

Dennis Leary stole too. The difference between Leary and Ned is that Leary made what he stole funnier (Bill Hicks was brilliant but not much of a performer) and Ned makes what he steals less funny, which is the true crime here.

Unfunny, and he's not a latino. The only time I ever laughed while watching him was when his mother or something came on before the show and apologized for whatever her son was saying. It was so ridiculous I had to chuckle.

I find a lot of minorities ride their race out for laughs, just because they can. I knew a bunch of kids in my freshmen class that made fun of each other's race and got away with it because, and I quote, they're "in it together." Mencia has this mentality and it's degrading. And he's not even funny. He yells for no reason as if that makes it more memorable, and did anyone see him rate Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? His whole point was that there weren't any original Oompa Loompas and then proceeded to bludgeon midgets with laughing as they danced around, embarrassing themselves. I hate him more that I know he steals his stuff, because honestly, how could he find this funny enough to steal?

I actually thought his show might be good at first before I knew what an *** he was. I did watch a couple of his episodes before realizing he's not funny and one of the things that really got to me was how on one episode he called out these muslims in the audience and said they didn't know how to riot properly and said that all you do is blow stuff up. Do you know how pissed I would be if I were them? I bet he had to pay them to sit there and take that.

I despise Carlos Mencia AND his tv show, standup and... Everything else he's been involved in. Every single solitary thing about his act SCREAMS 'I'm compensating for something'. His jokes are EXTREMELY tired, most of which have been used by a hundred other ethnic comedians, just not in skit form, and even then, most of his skits are reminiscent in one way or another. Nothing he does is fresh. His views on everything are absolutely retarded, and he seems to realize it, with such 'catch phrases' as "If you aint laughin', you aint living", which says to me: "Those who do not laugh at my jokes are not laughing because they are probably racist/prejudiced in some way. Seriously, it has nothing to do with my subpar comedic ability".

I was watching his show one day (I keep telling myself that maybe I'm being close minded - again and again I prove myself wrong in that respect), and he said "I don't like to make things racial unless I have to". What the hell, dude? Were it not for racial jokes, you wouldn't be able to scratch a living as a comedian at ALL. Mind Of Mencia is nothing but a whole bunch of pro-america or stereotype laden horse manure. I can't wait until it gets cancelled. Racial jokes are to comedy as Vanilla Ice is to rap music.

I really can't stand him. On top of the fact that he's stolen every bit of material that's even earned him a laugh, he's also just an obvious replacement for Dave Chappelle. Comedy Central realized they lost a huge money maker, so they picked someone from a different race, and told them to continue doing race jokes until race jokes aren't funny ever again. Comedy Central has really been falling back on race related comedy lately because they know it gets attention and that's what sells. They need to focus on real comedy that actually has a little bit of thought put into it.

This. He offends me because his jokes are all lame and obvious and have been done to death already. Well, not the jokes (which are stolen to begin with), but the nature of his "humor". It's just so lazy. It's not witty or culturally relevant or subtle like a Dave Chapelle or Richard Pryor or even an Amazing Racist would handle racial material. It's obvious and he tries to beat you over the head with it. It's like "OMG can he say wetback lol?"

I'm also steamed by the fact that he isn't even Mexican (he's something like German and Honduran).
