The fact that a band like Black Sabbath and a band such as Nile, and then on the other hand a band like Limp Bizkit can all be considered metal says that the genre is so diverse that it almost becomes an art form. It is almost like metal is more defined by a way of thinking that actual music. I have heard EVERY other musical genre that I can think of being expressed through heavy metal. Kid Rock blends country and metal, Limp Bizkit blends rap and metal, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin blend Rock & Roll and metal, and the list goes on and on. I don't know if there is another genre that does this quite to the extreme that heavy metal does.

and BTW, your claim that my opinion is unbacked is unbacked. You didn't give any response as to why my opinion isn't backed up.

heavy metal is not a sub genre of rock and roll. That would mean that all heavy metal is rock and roll, which isn't. I wouldn't consider the band Origin a rock and roll band.

Black metal, Doom Metal, Death Metal, Speed metal, etc., are all sub-genres of heavy metal because although different, they all fit under one music "roof".

I will agree with you that a lot of the heavy metal variations can be annoying and/or Shittty from time to time.

Yeah, and this is totally true; however, this is stricly specific to one group of people, which this look just so happens to fit the more pseudo-gothic fanbase. Do I treat metal as a way of life? Technicality isn't musicianship either. There are certainly talented metal musicians, but honestly, most metal that is labelled tech is just a series of spastic off-time riffs strung together amounting to very little pleasure, at least for me.
