a great way to discover good new bands is by looking through record label websites, i've found a bunch of bands that way. so maybe if we tell each other what labels we all like, then we can all find sweet sweet music. agreed? agreed.

these are some that i like:

morr music

touch and go
http://www.touchandgorecords.com

Soul Jazz and Numero Group are pretty sweet for reissues and compilations. Numero's Eccentric Soul series is the greatest thing since moose knuckle. Kompakt is nice, !K7 releases a nice selection of electronic things, too. I dunno there are probably more.

Also, http://www.discogs.com/labels is a nice thing to use for contact info and discographies (obv). I used to have a favorites folder full of links to label websites but discogs.com is the best.

SST had the best bands but the worst business sense. Stupid Ginn.

But all that matters is they had good music:

SST
K
Dischord
Sub Pop
Ipecac
Touch-and-Go
Kill Rock Stars
Asian Man
Lookout! (even though they suck the big one now)

Dischord, Touch+Go, etc...

Bukowski

Kill Rock Stars (Earlier lineup mostly)

good call.

I can't be bothered listing stuff so. SST is the best label. They had lots of really awesome bands that didn't get as much recognition as BF, Minutemen, Descendents, and the Huskers. Bands like Universal Congress Of.

And yea, add Kill Rock Stars to my list too. So many greats there.
