It looks absolutely amazing. Anything Rob Zombie has something to do with = Perfect.

There are so many people who think Zombie's films are **** though.

He is a very acquired taste. For example i was the only person out of a group of about 12 friends or so who actually wanted to stay during the first screening of House of 1000 Corpses. F*ck them, i thought it was awesome even if they left i would have finished it.

I lent my House of 1000 Corpses DVD to a few people who also thought it was sh*t. It's the most hated film i have ever come across.

Devil's Reject's was really f*cked up as well.

House of 1000 Corpses is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The Devil's Rejects was considerably better.

As for this, this looks slightly overblown. Zombie doesn't realize the meaning of 'subtlety' which is what made the first one so memorable, so this will probably crap on the original. As a standalone film, it'll probably be a little better than decent, but stacked up next to the original it'll be bad.

Yeah, he's one of my favorite directors by far. House of 1000 Corpses is amazing and TDR is one of my favorite movies of all time. It has my favorite scene ever too, the ending one.

I hope this new movie turns out well

i've been waiting for this movie for so long

i heard an interview on the radio more than a year ago where zombie was talking about how he was remaking this and he wanted to strip the supernatural element from the movie and make the michael character more realistic

should be fantastic

I'll see it because of Zombie. I don't really care about the previous series, but I've really dug Zombie's approach to his movies.

For Halloween, I hope he's used a lot of silence to build up tension. In House of a 1,000 Corpses there was a beutiful scene when a cop was about to get shot that was just silent as the camera craned upwards and backwards. You expect it coming but because of how the tension just builds and builds it still got me. I loved that part.

That looks awesome. The original is one of my favorite movies, and by far my favorite horror movie. I'll definitely be seeing this since I love Halloween and Rob Zombie.

I can't stand any of his movies so far. Most of them have way too many scenes that seem gory/horrific just for the sake of it, not because its got much of anything to do with the movie. A lot of the scenes in 1000 corpses seemed like that.

His movies just aren't scary or suspenseful in any way to me, they seem more on the "****ed-up" side of things, but not even done well at that. (The Devils Rejects for exampe)

I don't know how his Halloween movie is going to turn out...the original is just to classic to be messing around with. It would be like someone re-making Star Wars or Jaws or something...some movies should be left alone.

That is all , of course, IMHO!

You completely miss the point of his movies.

Homage to old school slasher and B movies. On TDR, he actually pulled that off AND made deep characters and whatnot.

Iscariot
04-07-2007, 11:43 PM
exactly he's not trying to make something new and completely original he's trying to bring the horror classics to a new generation

Looks alright.

At least they took off the cheesey/supernatural element that the last like 3 Halloween films have had.

Deep characters??? .... The Devils Rejects??? ... If you say so.

You are entitled to your opinion just like me and anyone else. I think his movies are terrible. Why would you want to pay homage to "B" movies ? Its like praising ****.

B films were just low-budget, supporting films to the actual GOOD movies back in the day.

And I still believe he shouldn't of messed with Halloween.

Again, all of the above is IMHO! No need for anyone to get upset

lol @ thinking there was ever any such thing as a > B rate horror movies

john carpenter is considered one of the masters of the horror movie genre but you won't see any of his movies getting star spangled reviews

horror movies are not meant to be oscar winning masterpieces it's on a whole different scale from what you would consider "good movies"

that doesn't mean they aren't good that means that unless you understand the horror genre and understand what makes a good horror/suspense movie you aren't going to like anything in that genre

So now not only is there no such thing as "B-movies" (searching the interwebs will tell you otherwise) , you're saying there is no such thing as a good horror movie.

I understand what movies I like, and what movies I don't like. And I don't like any movies from Rob Zombie. I think he needs to stick to his music personally, I kind of like him as a musician.

You aren't going to convince me into saying his movies are good, or that I enjoy watching them. All I gave was my opinions on them, like all the posters did before me.

where did i say that definitely not anywhere in the last post

so not only do you not understand cinema but you also have bad taste in music

You aren't going to convince me into saying his movies are good, or that I enjoy watching them. All I gave was my opinions on them, like all the posters did before me.

no you've whined and posted a bunch of little asterisk clusters and then said "lol don't disagree with me it's my opinion so it can't be wrong" which in itself is a fallacy

and you're the one shitting all over the horror movie genre not me so why exactly is it that you're accusing me of stating there is no such thing as a good horror movie are you in special ed
