April 5, 2007 - SET YOUR GOALS, BIG D AND THE KIDS TABLE, ALEXISONFIRE, ANTI-FLAG - Clifton Park, NY - Northern Lights - War Sucks Lets Party tour.

Set Your Goals - Such a good band. I wish I was more familiar with their music but I knew some of it. Seemed like really nice guys too. Played mostly stuff from Mutiny!. "Work In Progress" "To Be Continued" "Mutiny" etc. Some stuff from Reset, maybe 2 songs. They also covered "Jaded" and it was awesome. Also had the best merch.

Big D And The Kids Table - Best set of the night. Big D are always good live though. Played mostly new stuff except for "LAX" "Flashlight" and "Little Bitch". I really enjoyed their slower dub stuff though, it was really fun to dance to and everyone was really into it. "LAX" was ****ing amazing like usual, best live song I've ever been involved with probably. Everyone knows that song and it's fun.

Alexisonfire - This is the 4th time I've seen Alexisonfire and I was really dissapointed to be honest. The new album is horrible and other than "Accidents" and "White Devil" they only played material from the new album. I was involved in breaking up 2 seperate fights during their set and however lame this may sound I'm a firm believer that fighting doesn't belong at shows and it was kind of dissapointing. At the end of their set they stopped until another fight broke up too and that was kind of gay since they spent half of their set talking anyway. Basically Alexisonfire shut the **** up and play music that wasn't released recently.

Anti-Flag - Seeing Anti-Flag was kind of bitter sweet for me. I've really wanted to see them for a long time because I spent so much time on them when I was younger. At the same time their live show is so incredibly lame. They have tons of energy and when they're actually playing it's enjoyable. They played mostly old material that was great to sing along to and the pit was great. Between every song there would be a recording that spewed some Anti-American "did you know that in '06 alone BUSH spent 94 Billion dollars on nuclear weapons" etc. It's lame. Once again shut the **** up and play your music. There were also HUNDREDS of these cocksuckers yelling "**** AMERICA **** BUSH YEAH YEAH SUCK DICK **** BUSH **** WAR" constantly. It's lame. Having the crowd put up peace signs every other song is lame. Anti-Flag play your ****ing music. We know your agenda based on every album you've released since DFYG. We get it.

6/10 I'm glad I went it was a lot of fun but there was a lot of lameness.

I miss the old review thread. It sucks that it got deleted, because there are some shows that I wish I still remember as much detail as I put into those posts.

That isn't the new album. That album came out like 3 years ago.

Oops, that's not what he meant. He meant that they played all new material other than the occasional "old" one like 'Accidents' and 'White Devil.'

I am so excited for Modest Mouse on May 3. I wish the Aracade Fire on the 5th didn't sell out.

March 31 Parkway Drive, Endwell, This is Hell, It Dies Today, and Comeback Kid

Parkway Drive
Had not heard of this band until getting to the show, some Australian metalcore band. People went bezerk for these guys. Wasn't really into them, something a Bleeding Through fanbase I guess might enjoy. Singer is an amazingly nice dude though, sort of surprised to see him active in the pit for the rest of the night considering the size of the show.

Endwell
This band was terrible, couldn't enjoy them at all.

This is Hell
Main band I came to see, it was at this point the show became lots of fun. Stagediving began for the first time and during this set people were hanging and doing flips off the lights. Dudes were absolutely pumped to be playing and had the most energy in my opinion.

It Dies Today
I had a mild excitement about seeing these guys because when I was in 8th and 9th grade I was obsessed with this band. I was not dissapointed as all those lyrics I had memorized a few years ago came flooding back. Two kids got knocked out and had to be taken to the hospital during their set. Overall got the greatest reaction out of the crowd.

Comeback Kid
After about 4 songs I had to go stand to the side as the constant influx of stagedivers was becoming ridiculous and my vision was skewed from some of the shots to the head. Played mostly new stuff with about 3 songs from WTD and 2 songs from TIA. Closed with Wake the Dead in which stage was filled for a massive sing-a-long, one of my favorite moments of the night.

Rating 7/10
If Endwell was not on the bill this would of been around a 9.

Jason Webley - April 4th @ a place called The Lilly Pad

So I got to the venue, and it was a nice little cozy place with a piano in the back. There was a church choir that could be heard from within the building, and it was in praise of God, or the "Lord," as we are just His peasants.

It turns out he was gonna be forty five minutes late, so the lady in the
Dresden Dolls improvised with anarchy! That is, she got (some of) us to provide some self-entertainment, until the bastard would get there. We ended up listening to excerpts from plays, which sounds really gay, but it was pretty funny, and they had bongos. But damn, since that obviously couldn't fill 45 minutes without you wanting to chop off someone's head, the Dresden Dolls woman was hot on her feet, cause then we started to play cherades, until Jason ruined the fun and got there.

Jason Webley, for those of you who don't know, is a really creative and talented musician from Seattle who has been playing folk and gypsy type accordion music even before September 11th. But it's not just accordion music, his instruments include the guitar, the floor, and everything else and a bottle of vodka filled with coins. He is also a good storyteller, and rightly so, his show is not just a set list.

The show itself was really comfortable, mostly because we were sitting down (no stage diving! hehehe). Man, I'm ****ing too lazy to write about the show itself (although I think I have said something), so I suggest you just go see him if you are intrigued.

Lighten Up!- Good local Philly band. Had seen them once before and picked up their 7", so was familiar w/ some songs. Have a very cool old-school sound. Check 'em out.

Ambitions- Better than I expected. Not sure what I was expecting though... They played real tight live and a lot of people were into them.

The Geeks- I ****in love this band. If you haven't heard of them, they're a South Korean posi hardcore band. Their music was explosive, fun and everyone had a smile on their face the whole time they were playing. Between each song the singer would talk, either about Korea or bands he used to like. It was very entertaining. They also played a great YOT cover. I probably had the most fun during this set.

Down To Nothing- Never heard of them going into the show, so I didn't know what to expect. They played pretty well. The crowd reaction was pretty crazy. Most of the ppl knew the words and were piling on the whole time. Fun to watch.

Bane- There isn't too much to say about this band that hasn't already been said. Great songs, great playing, great crowd. The show was at te church so it was non-stop stage-diving, which I enjoy. This was the second time I saw them, and the weaker of the two, but not by much. Still had a great time.

Overall: 8.5/10

Lame Review 101

Kill Decibel: missed

Rise & Fall: Just arrived at the show as they just finished their last song. Lame.

Iron Age: Honestly, I didn't even know these guys were playing this show. They took awhile to come on, but are definitely a tight band and a sweet band to see live.

****ed Up: Short Set, but obviously "energetic crazy." As noted by Damien himself, there was a lot of pauses between their songs because of his random rantings/talk. They played about four from hidden world, a couple from epics and their 7"s, including police.

Drive By, Cancer Bats, Billy Talent @ Troubadour April 6th

Drive By: Opened the night. They sucked and bored the **** out of me.

Cancer Bats: There were the only band I heard of previous to the show but I didn't like the recorded songs on their myspace. They were actually really good and had a lot of energy. The fat hairy guitar player was wearing and Entombed shirt which was cool. They got a pop punk crowd filled with kids wearing Billy Talent shirts to move around. I was the only one at the show who actually stage dove. End result wasn't good. I took out group of girls and just created a big hole in the crowd. They were so dumb, they didn't even put their hands up, instead they just looked at me."Cool a flying body" WHAM! Overall the band was good and I ended up buying a cd.

Billy TalentThe crowd consisted of 12 year kids in Billy Talent shirts who were with their parents. I watched them play one song and then went to the bar which was in a seperate room. Sat there whole time and just watched their set from a t.v and drank a little.

My friend treated me to the show and drove me there so overall a mediocre night. I origanally planed to make myself look like an ***, drink a little, and hit on 12 year old girls (literally). Mission accomplished.
