I've been for the past 4 years, and most of the bands playing this year have played for at least 2 of those 4.
Hence i can't be arsed paying £160+ to see bands who i've seen before/can see at my local venue for £5 each. All the new bands are predictable too, i mean The View/Klaxons headlining the Radio 1 Stage? Come on, they've both had one album, clocking in at 40 minutes or so, that doe snot a headline set make.
I go every year, I'm going this year.
line-up is better than most years for a first announcement.
Pumpkins and Arcade Fire will be sexy.

I'd really like to see the Smashing Pumpkins and Arcade Fire. There's a few others I wouldn't mind checking out too.

Looks pretty good. Obviously wont be going, because I'm in a different country. Lot's of pretty horrible stuff there too, but I think it would be an over-all good time.

I am excited about Smashing Pumpkins for sure, and KOL, Interpol and Arcade Fire but i'm really looking forward to seeing which smaller acts are announced across the other stages. Could be a chance to catch up on some bands i've had to miss for stuff like age-restrictions etc.
This doesn't look very good.

Kings Of Leo's new album is pretty damn good. I'd like to see them. Klaxons and Maximo Park would be good as well. Plus enter shikari are playing.

Hmmmm they've got a few good songs, some rubbish ones too, but i guess that goes for any band, they were good live though.
But still, one 40 minute album is hardly what i'd class a headlining set.

I'm off to Leeds for my second year. It's a lot better than the original line-up of last year.

WHo im going for.
Im not overly keen on the Main Stage head liners tbh, im liking the NME tent though.

This will be my third year going this year, and i'm really happy about the lineup.
Thing is though, people seem to forget that Reading is just as much about the atomsphere in the camps as the music. I only saw like 5-6 bands last year and still had an amazing time. Perhaps bar Glasto, its easily the best festival enviroment in Britain.
I strongely advise people to go, and loads more bands are going to be announced soon anyway.

I meant Reading by the way, naturally.
Hmmm, I think the idea of going to Rwading and seeing like 6 bands is kinda lame.
Yeah the line-up is sometimes kinda lame, but there's always some band playing the Carling tent or NME stage which you might not have heard, that will blow you away. I try to see as many bands as possible.
But yeah, the atmosphere is mad good.

my third year.
I'm looking forward to seeing who gets to play the Lock Up.
Probably end up spending most the time in the Carling.
Dance tent is always fun too.
Anyone else think that the bands are almost always much more dissapointing on main stage then they would be in tents? (excepting headliners, of course)
Yeah me too for sure, I'd much rather bands that I like play tents rather than the main stage.
The Shins have confirmed for the festival on their myspace, I'm hoping they play mid-NME stage rather than on the main.
I like your Bedouin username.

We went last year to leeds, and my mate, who is a proper metalhead, wanted to see Slayer, and Bullet. He missed bullet for my valentine, did go to see other bands and he had a great time. So i strongly back your comments :thumb:
And the Main stage Argument, the tents are tonnes better, tbh im gonna be in Carling and NME more then anywhere this year i think. Not many on the main stage i wanna see.

because it takes way more effort to get the British press to notice us. unlike Rolling Stone, NME still manages to influence people to buy ur albums

I doubt Tool will play tbh
they're playing another european festival on the saturday (the same day they'd appear as 'special guests' at Leeds)
and last year they headlined Download alongside Guns N' Roses and Metallica so I doubt they'd play below Maximo Park
though theres also the rumours hovering round that one of the top 6 headliners has pulled out so theres still hope :thumb:
