Psh I support all the way. Spoiler tags would definitely be helpful, the links thing does get quite annoying, I like the thread size idea, and plus there needs to be another Administrator to take DBJ's place. Peer would be awesome because he's on a lot.

Stu: How big is the thread size issue? If it would make some sort of difference to close threads after 1000 posts then I could enforce that in my forum but tbh 1000 posts is pretty small nd would create lots more work so basically you need to tell me it's very worth it >:|

I can enforce this even if J doesn't make it mandatory.

It's not a precise number, just that the bigger the threads are the more processing has to be done to sort them into pages etc, so if there's some enormous thread at 10k posts it'll slow the place down somewhat. I'd say up to about 5k should be okay for a forum this size, actually I'll edit that in.

Haha, well I'll get on closing our 60k post community thread then :p
I'll look into enforcing a 5k thread size limit too.

Excellent. :)
So long as you link to the new thread in the last post it should be pretty much the same as one continuous thread anyway, without putting such a strain on the server. Especially since 99% of the time people are only looking at the last 2-3 pages in the thread.
