Anyone else here who thought their first album was amazing? I still listen to it a fair bit and play drums to it. I like the kind of funky feel and jazzy chords, and just pretty much all about it.


Does anyone know if they're bringing out a proper 2nd studio album soon (as opposed to the live thing they did a while back)?? It would be well good if they were :):thumb:

They are, the single and video are out now.

It Won't Be Soon Before Long is the title for Maroon 5's second studio album. It is expected to be released on May 22, 2007. The name was inspired by a phrase the band adopted to keep themselves motivated while on their tour.

The band have stated in interviews that the album will have a different feel to it. The songs will not all be based on one specific relationship, as in "Songs About Jane"; and will also have a different sound to their first album, being more eclectic and drawing inspiration from such artists as Talking Heads and Prince.

Amazon.com and the UK site Play.com both offer the cd on presales.

The lead single off this set is "Makes Me Wonder".

Maroon 5 are always one of those bands that's greatness is over looked. people just forget about them. First album was pretty good, but i didnt miss them when they were gone.

I never got the Maroon 5 hype. they aren't a very good band. they have a few songs that are acceptable, but other than that - they're bollocks.
I'd rather sit and listen for the latest Fall Out Boy single for five straight hours, than listen to their first album.
but they're not the worst band ever. I mean, they have potential. so lets just hope they don't **** up on the next album.

Maroon 5 is quite good.

Lyrically they were a bit meh, musically they had some stuff going but lacked edge, but I think they can make up for it in the new album. I like them.

Fair enough, though personally I can't stand Fall Out Boy. Or a lot of that fall out boy / my chemical romance / all american rejects etc stuff at all (Older stuff e.g. green day is not included in this).

So now that the new CD is out, any opinions on it, I'm thinking of maybe getting it, especially as there is jack all other good music coming out at the moment :upset:???

I second that. What is the big deal with Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance?

I quite like Maroon 5. It has been a long wait for their follow-up album though. They definitely have talent, but the question is whether they can be more than just a one-hit wonder and fade into obscurity. I very much doubt they will top She Will Be Loved in terms of popularity.

i never liked them at the time but when I heard 'Nothing Lasts Forever' I reconsidered, ahve since bought both albums- the first is pretty sweet, the second was good at first but im already a little tired of it (its still ok though, maybe I associate it with something I didnt like when I heard it...not sure)
