View Full Version : Arto Lindsay
Front man for NY No-Wave band DNA.
I am sure he has collaborated with many different bands and musicians over the years and I would like to find out what other projects he has been involved with .
All I have been able to find so far is The Lounge Lizards a no-wave "fake-jazz" album on which Arto is the guitarist.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Lounge Lizards and DNA are sweet. Look into stuff he did with Zorn, like The Big Gundown (which is an excellent album).

I'd say DNA is the best no wave band.
I have one solo album Arto Lindsay did, outside of DNA and the Lounge Lizards. It's called Noon Chill, and it is NOTHING like any of his previous no wave bands. I listened to it once, but didn't really like it much. I'll give it another go sooner or later.
He was also in the Ambitious Lovers, but I was never able to find anything by them on slsk. As for Zorn, I didn't even know he'd collaborated with him -- I'll check that out.
Yea DNA is definately one of the better No Wave bands. I haven't heard anything else Lindsay was involved in though.

DNA are one of my favorite no wave bands.

I have an ambitious lovers album. Its sounds dated and cheesy. All of his other badns are good though.

I'm curious about his solo albums. One of the record stores I frequent has a bunch of em. I'll probably just grab one some day. He collaborated with Caetano Veloso on Estrangeiro which isn't too bad.
I just got John Giavanti, the No-wave opera DNA did with Mars. It is ****ing brilliant.
Can someone upload me a damn Lounge Lizard album? I've been searching for one forever and I haven't been able to get one.
