Seeing as people have all kind of weird basses on this forum I was wondering if anyone had ever tried or owned a bass like this?

Seems a bit odd, is it any good?

Interesting. Unless you're in a bluegrass band, you are not legally allowed to own a resonator guitar. True fact.

This is true! I bought one two years ago, and no less than 15 minutes after exiting the store I was pulled over by a local police officer and asked to verify my bluegrass affiliation. When I could not he locked me up and threw me in jail! I was later released but was not allowed to keep my resonator :(

Seems weird that the 19th fret has 3 dot inlays.

Aren't resonators known for their piano-esque sustain?

If I had a dime for every "How can I sound like a piano" thread... I'd buy a gun and shoot Doug.

And blues slide guitar as well.

Given how weak most ABGs are, I bet that resonator helps cut through acoustic guitars pretty well. I'd probably buy one if I had a lot of money.

I'm going to totally **** on the in-thread joke and mention how 90% of bluegrass bassists use an upright.
