View Full Version : 2007 Ozzfest Lineup: WTF!?!

Interviewer/surveyer

After going to last year's Ozzfest, I decided that I would probably be going to ozzfest every year until I die.

But after checking out this years lineup, I'm VERY disappointed.

Has anyone else seen the lineup this year, and If so, what do you think about it?

They obviously can't afford to have the same kind of bill if they're selling tickets for free.

tbh this Lineup is the best OzzFest has done yet, mainly when it normally sucks complete ***.

I don't care what Nile says, they're not going there to smash the "mallcore posers" with their brutal death metal. To be honest, that really justs seems like a justified excuse to play there.

AA-12
03-27-2007, 02:06 PM
Nah, I think they're serious about that. Either way, at least I get to see them live for free :D

Shattered_Future
03-27-2007, 02:24 PM
That's true. I'd go just to see Nile.

Of course not. They're doing it for the exposure, there's absolutely no doubt that that press release was complete bullshit. But at least it was clever bullshit.

Pfft... Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Slayer, and Lamb of God in the same night?

Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Mastodon and In Flames in the same night?

AA-12

True, overall the first one you mentioned is better than this one. This one is my favorite though just because of Nile. I just remembered 3IoB is on this too, and they're one of my favorite bands.

pate

3IoB rocks, but it's sad when they are the best band on a bill.

They will never top 2004

I'd go to this Ozzfest since it's free, hey you can't really see any band for free, but I would only go if I was guaranteed there wouldn't be any retards there too. Sadly many "br00tal" and wannabe "br00tal" people will be there. Besides, I'd only go for Ozzy and maybe BLS. Wish last year with Maiden was free.

I think you're a year behind. BLS isn't on this year's, and Maiden played two years ago.

If you mean the most "least metal" ozzfest, then possibly. But last year's lineup kills this year.

I don't give two shits that Ozzfest is free this year. Id rather pay $200 for ozzfest and see Slayer, Mastodon, LoG(on the 2nd stage), Opeth, and a bunch of other really good bands, then what they have going on this year. You can't just say a concert is free and then turn it into complete crap.

Yes, Nile will be cool. Even though I don't like them at all(I bought Black Seeds of Vengence 2 years ago, listened to it once, and never played it again), it will be cool to see them. Lamb of God will be cool, even though they should be on the 2nd stage where they belong(because of the moshpits). Other than that...complete crap. I mean, who the **** is the Showdown??

Mr. Ron
03-28-2007, 10:00 AM
There are soooo many GOOD bands they could book for that show, but alas, the majority of people who go to this event wear OCC choppers clothing and buy $5 bottles of water while jamming to Otep.

They cacelled Sommerset AGAIN, so **** Ozzfest. I've been to 4 of them at Sommerset, which is by far the best place to have the concert, because it's an OPEN AIRFIELD, but hey, they keep cancelling so who cares. I don't even like any of the bands they have anymore anyways, it's all garbage to me. IMO.

You mean classic lineups. Dickinson/Harris/Murray/Smith/Gers/McBrain isn't close to the original Maiden lineup.

So...Behemoth was just added, as a non-rotating second stage band, which means they will get a 45 minute set.

I'd go for Nile, Lamb of God (why not?), and BEHEMOTH. I'd also like to check out Daath again, the last time I saw them live I was too out of it to get an impression either way.

This will just make metal better. This is great for the anti-capitalist side, the black-metallers who value anonymity, secrecy, noncommercialization, and like no one to know about their music.

Hey, I'd go to see LoG and Behemoth. I've never gotten to see Ozzy live, so I'd look into it.

Hey is BLS playing this year? (I know it seems noobish to ask, but I don't remember seeing them on the bill)

pate

They aren't listed.

GenuineImitation

Im pretty suprised BLS isnt on the bill. I guess Ozzy wanted to give another band a chance to get exposure.

Im definetly not going to this. As much as I would love to see Ozzy, Im not a huge Behemoth fan, LoG are mediocre although they put on a good show and Im sick of Nile. The other bands arent even worth mentioning in my opinion. Definety not worth a 90 mile trip to Jersey.
