Yeah the ones you mentioned aren't great. This is a Long Drive... is the best, but Lonesome Crowded West and Moon and Antarctica are both close behind. I'd say Moon is the worst of the three.

New one is pretty boring. Get The Moon & Antarctica or Lonesome Crowded West or Building Nothing Out Of Something.

this is a long drive... is my favorite album, followed by everywhere and his nasty parlour tricks and moon and antarctica. i think the first album you should listen to from here is definitely moon and antarctica, then everywhere and his nasty parlour tricks, then lonesome crowded west, then this is a long drive

Moon and antarctica is the best one you can listen to after that. Sorta sucks you into the world of modest mouse. Then work backwards from their. Right to this is a long drive. And check out tracks 1- 15 of sad sappy sucker. Their first album, but it was shelved till years later.

samthebassman is wronger than wrong
on the best album, not on the favorite songs (ps the "good times are killing me" and "the world at large" are by far the best off the album, "bukowski" is awesome too)

I've always thought that they were a bit over-rated, but Lonesome Crowded West does get some play from time to time. Haven't been all that big on their other albums tbqh. Good News has it's moments as well.

I just got hold of their debut album, the name escapes me at the moment, but it is a damn fine album.

Good news is their first major label album, so it is the easiest to get hold of.
hey, you're not cory!
05-22-2007, 10:04 AM
Moon and Antarctica is their first major label release, isn't it?
Anyways, that and This is a Long Drive... are my two favorites. Lonesome Crowded West is good to and I enjoyed Good News for People WHo Love Bad News more than most seemed to. I also have Sad Sappy Sucker but haven't really listened to it.

Iam pretty sure "good news" was, none of their previous albums had any promo or anything.
I could be wrong though.
