My guitarist recently got a free 5 piece drum set.
So we decided to combine our drummer's current set up with the free one.
Now it's a 10 piece and were finding ways to set it up better.
Our main concern is the area where the snare and the bass drums meet. should we put it between the two bass drums? because now the hi hats are further away than what it's used to.
I'll try to get actual pictures that next time i go to my guitarist's house.

...that's basically how it looks like. the red parts are where we put the crashes, the red/yellow part is where the ride is, and the multicolored one is where the hi hat is.
it seems like there's no problem, but like i said earlier the hi hats are farther than what it's used to.
Any help will be appreciated.
If you can illustrate your idea, it will be better.

Why even use two bass drums? They take up way too much space in my opinion. Just get rid of one bass drum and you'll be able to get to the hats.

we want a double pedal going on, but we don't even have money for new sticks.

Two bass drums are for losers, or people who are hardcore enough to have two (i.e Chips). Take one out, get a double kick, and it'll be an awesome setup. :thumb:
EDIT: Ah, not enough money... Well you could put the hats in the middle, between the kicks and infront of your snare ala Matter.

then it'd be pretty hard to use the pedal then
unless you got a remote, which i'm assuming you can't, since you can't get new sticks

That auxillery snare looks really hard to get too.... Otherwise theres no real law as to where you put your pieces. Try putting the snare to the left maybe.

If you don't intend on using your hi-hat pedal then it doesn't really matter where it goes. Maybe change the direction the pedal faces to see if that can get it closer.
Or even put it on the other side of the kit
I'm presuming that your drummers current set up is better than a " 5 piece set your guitarist got for free" so why exactly do you want to just chuck it on there to make the kit bigger?

Judging by the wanting 2 have 2 bass pedals going: metal
Judging by his profile: also metal
*edit*
Dunno if you've done this but, you could probably afford to set up the toms in order of pitch by swapping them around n all that jazz

You could fold the legs in on the hihat stand and clamp it to your bass drum. I know at least 1 person on the forums did/does this, so hopefully they'll post a more detailed description.

Right until I bought this tama hat-to-bass attachment:

which makes it a ton easier to get those hats good n' close.

Just put your hi hat pedal by the bass drum pedal to your left, like was shown above numerous times.
