Am I correct in assuming your the guitarist? Anyway, the intro on the classical was cool, just the one feedback or whatever at that one spot, but otherwise that was cool. I love the tune(Chameleon) so that automatically gets you guys some points in my book. As far as the drummer, I think his feel is okay, but he went out of time at some points and when you came in on the electric it got really hard to hear the other instrumentation. Your leads were cool and fit with the tune, but his little solo bit felt kind of out of place, it could've used more grooving or at least more direction with the fills he played. All in all, pretty cool.

Dont mean to be rude, but at the begining, and for most of it, the drums sounded unstable, like you wernt sure what to play.

Beginning was great, but it kinda fell apart once the drums came in. He was pretty consistently out of time with the bass and his time was definitetly shakey...I guess he was trying to play behind the beat or something, but it sounded fairly bad. Were you guys having trouble hearing eachother, or something?

I agree with Ted.....the bass player & drummer were not in sync at all. Seems each had their own interpretation of the time and feel of the song. And once the guitar came in, I couldn't hear anything else.

They said what i couldn't say. It wasnt really together. But i know how the listening responsibilities are in a gym..

to be honest, you beat really didn't fit chameleon too well

I'll tell you guys, that was the first time me and the drummer played with the bassist, seriously I wish we could have practiced and rehearsed.
They said what i couldn't say. It wasnt really together. But i know how the listening responsibilities are in a gym..The acoustic were hellish, I had to double check to see if I had reverb on. It was very hard to groove with this booming reverb destroying every rhythmic subtlety.

Gyms are terrible for that kind of thing.

Good song choice :thumb:

Drummer ruined it for me though as it needs a really tight groove...which that kinda lacked.

unfortunately, that IS the chameleon beat.

well, at least he got the snare right. should've been doing 8ths on the hat, but that's okay.

point is, could've been better. fills were odd and it didn't feel together.

better luck next time?

I'm sure a good excuse is the reverb in the room, but yeah he's still learning as are everyone of us

Well, its not like you would ever come to a time where your not still learning, but I get what you mean.

Swiftay, he may have nearly had the "correct" beat, but he was far from having a good feel on it.

Yeah, it is a bit cumbersome of a beat even on the original recording, in my opinion. Of course it is made superb by Harvey Mason's feel, though. For another player it can fall flat very easily.
