“may well be at the forefront of an exciting new style of drumming.” MD mag.
and critically acclaimed by Bill Bruford

Sup guys, Just stopping by to show you this "up and coming" drummer that has recently caught my attention.

"The 26-year-old New Jersey native’s unique and un-compromised approach to playing the drums has earned him international acclaim both as a leader and a sideman. Mark discovered his passion and natural talent for drumming at age 15 when he began studying with the great Joe Bergamini. After spending his high school years getting involved in every musical environment he could find, ranging from local rock bands to big band swing, he decided to attend William Paterson University in New Jersey as a Jazz Studies major. This time provided Mark with the chance to study under jazz greats John Riley and Kevin Norton and be surrounded by inspiring and diverse music. It was at WPU where Mark began to find his own voice both as a drummer and a composer."

Here is his fusion/experimental band- Heernt

Well i'm about to leave to go to a party, so all I will say for now is that I met Bill Bruford 8 days ago. He had a really cool approach to the kit. Little bit on the science side, but cool none-the-less.

Jack DeJohnette who I met the day after put on a pretty crap performance.

I liked the use of the typewriter sounds, I'll have to listen to more later though.

Someone finally posted video of Mark
And yes, his technique does fill me with rage. :) jk
But he has a very unconventional approach to the kit and Ive been intriguied with his playing ever since. Even if its not the most beautiful thing to look at.:p
