Why does metal bands have logos and not pop-acts/bands like Michael Jackson or Britney Spears?

i've always liked the logo strung out have used since "exile in oblivion." i'm considering getting it tattooed. can't stand it when metal bands have logos that you can't actually read though. but then that pretty much sums up the mentality of black metal bands.

Agreed, Death's logo was awesome. I love the way Mayhem include inverted crosses in their band name logo.

Yeah Metal Archive is great for showing band fonts and such. I like how you can't read Darkthrones, unless you know what it is suppose to say.

I think the Death logo is actually pretty crap. None of the letters seem to link to each other...

Well it's okay, not the best. More awesome for the single fact it says "Death". Which is always good.
