I've noticed the R&M section doesnt have an In Flames thread. Are these guys not loved here or something? Surely there's a few here who like em.

Anyways I'l try start this off. My favourite album is Clayman. One of my favourite albums ever. Every song is brilliant.

There is an In Flames thread. Great Band. Even better live.

I hope to be seeing them live this summer. I've been relistening some of the stuff I have by them and I also don't think Come Clarity is such a bad album. It's just that albums like Jesters Race and Colony are better in my opinion.

The newer albums actually work amazingly live. Such awesome chunky riffs.

Speaking from a live perspective, the newer stuff is probably better... the guys have such awesome guitar tones.

Man i've wanted to see them live for aaaaages :(

Brilliant band.

I dont mind some of the newer songs like 'crawl through knives' and 'reflect the storm' but the old stuff is the way to go.

Look harder. There's been several.

Colony owns them all.

They have gone downhill since Colony in my opinion. Jester Race is my fav album of theirs.

Definitely gone downhill since Colony, but I think Colony was their masterpiece. Clayman was still good but lacking, and since then it's been *bleh*

Jester Race is definitely my favorite on the album, then Colony.

I thought Clayman had a few of the band's all time greatest songs, but it didn't hold my interest for the whole album.

Colony is great too, since then its been kinda average for me. Come Clarity wasn't terrible but it didn't match up to their older material.

In Flames rule, they're definitely one of my favorite bands at the moment, though I don't know too many of their songs, my personal faves are prolly Come Clarity, Biosphere, Moonshield, Episode 666, Crawl Through Knives, The Quiet Place, Cloud Connected, Bullet Ride and Man Made God.

Recommendations?

I liked maybe 2 songs from Come Clarity. Colony is my favorite album, but I listen to Tokyo Showdown the most.

I've seen them 4 times and that is very very very very true. They are amazing live. Especially the newer stuff.

Yeah man, there's been a LOT of In Flames threads here, but it was casual :) I like Whoracle the most, one of my favorite albums in general. To me, that was their masterpiece. Colony is great too, nice album, after Clayman though, they started getting weird, and Anders developed a "whine" which is common within the band in later recordings. Mainly because of the vocals, I only listen to Pre - Reroute To Remain, don't ask me why, love the Whoracle concept better

I prefer his vocal performances better on the new records

Very hit and miss with me, but I haven't given them a proper chance.
However, the songs I liked I thought were really, really good.

Er..
/vague and pointless post without further investigation->puts random IF on.

I apologize for not being able to find the other threads. Let's try keep this as a 'non-casual' kind of thread and more 'THE' In Flames thread.

I saw them live on the unholy alliance tour. Pretty ****ing awesome was right at the front. Would love to see them at some point as headliners.
