Today I found Pharoah Sanders "Karma" at a small record store for $3.99 used. I'd heard the album mentioned once or twice in a recommendations thread so I thought I'd just pick it up for shits and giggles.

Now I may be going against the grain here but upon my first few listens this is my favorite jazz album by a long shot, much better then A Love Supreme or Bitches Brew. It's extremely accessible yet it still contains a very spiritual and spontaneous sort of vibe. The Creator Has a Master Plan never goes threw any boring spells and it's over 30 minutes long.

So what are your thoughts on this album? Do you guys think it's good stuff or am I just trippin.

One of the greatest albums ever. So lush and beautiful. He has a couple other albums like it. Haven't been able to find anyone else like him.

Saw him live about a year ago at Grace Cathedral in SF (for those not from the area, huge, gothic cathedral, provides fantastic echo, perfect for Sanders). He just played solo, with piano in the background. It was awesome, one of the best concerts I went to last year. I've heard Karma once before, I really need to pick it up.
