Forgot to make this thread last week with the episode Two Days Before The Day After Tomorrow. A quick review on that episode, it was hilarious.

This new episode is good, but there hasn't been enough comical parts in my opinion anyway. Still a solid episode and creative.

Thanks for the info, I forgot to check if new episodes were out.

I have to say that I don't like the new season as much as the ones before, these newer episodes seem to rely too much on schock and disgust than the usual humor.

That episode about plastic surgery was pretty damn disturbing.

"I understand your concern, cliche dissenting Republican"

Last night's episode was just wrong. It was funny, but I felt like it went a little too far with the "suicide" and stuff. And what was that crap those girls were doing, Light As A Feather Stiff As A Board or whatever? That was messed up. It was funny the way they used irony so well, how the boys were so smart they could build this crazy infra-lation thing and discuss how it opened temporal time-paradoxes and stuff, but that they thought that folding thing was an actual future-teller  my sisters used to use those things.

"Hey, are we lezzing out?"

I know REINER recently made a thread about the new season of South Park, but I guess this is different because its just about South Park in general.

My favorite episode has to be the one where they parody The Lord of the Rings. Where Stan's parents accidentally put a pr0n (Back Door Sluts 9) in the Lord of the Rings box. I love the part where Token sees part of it then the parents try to explain to him what it was.

Parent:"Sometimes when a man and a woman love each other, the man puts his penis in the woman's vagina."
Token:"And when the woman has two penises inside her, is that love too? Two midgets and a goat, is that love?"
Parent:"What kind of pr0n was this?"
Other parent:"I'm afraid it was 'Back Door Sluts 9'."
Parent:"'Back Door Sluts 9!' Why that's the most hardcore pr0n ever made!"
-or something to that effect

Apparently even Trey and Matt get scared of some of the jokes they do, and since Tom Cruise is pretty big, and Issac Hayes is a scientologist, they changed the names in the credits to "protect" the people who made it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology

The "Hidden Truth" about the nature of the universe is taught to the most advanced Scientologists in a series of courses known as the Advanced Levels.
These are the levels above "Clear", and their contents are held in strict confidence within Scientology.
The most advanced of all are the eight Operating Thetan levels, for which the initiate needs to be thoroughly prepared.
The highest level, OT VIII, is only disclosed at sea, on the Scientology cruise ship Freewinds.
Since being entered into evidence in several court cases beginning in the 1980s, synopses and excerpts of these secret teachings have appeared in numerous publications.

In the OT levels, Hubbard describes a variety of traumas commonly experienced in past lives. He explains how to reverse the effects of such traumas by "running" various Scientology processes.
Among these advanced teachings, one episode that is revealed to those who reach OT level III has been widely remarked upon in the press: the story of Xenu, the galactic tyrant who first kidnapped certain individuals who were deemed "excess population" and loaded these individuals into space planes for transport to the site of extermination, the planet of Teegeeack (Earth).
These space planes were supposedly exact copies of Douglas DC-8s.
He then stacked hundreds of billions of these frozen victims around Earth's volcanoes 75 million years ago before blowing them up with hydrogen bombs and brainwashing them with a "three-D, super colossal motion picture" for 36 days.
The traumatized thetans subsequently clustered around human bodies, in effect acting as invisible spiritual parasites known as "body thetans" that can only be removed using advanced Scientology techniques.
Xenu is allegedly imprisoned in a mountain by a force field powered by an eternal battery.

NEW YORK -
Isaac Hayes has quit "South Park," where he voices Chef, saying he can no longer stomach its take on religion.

Hayes, who has played the ladies' man/school cook in the animated Comedy Central satire since 1997, said in a statement Monday that he feels a line has been crossed.

"There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins," the 63-year-old soul singer and outspoken Scientologist said.

"Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honored," he continued. "As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices."

"South Park" co-creator Matt Stone responded sharply in an interview with The Associated Press Monday, saying, "This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology... He has no problem — and he's cashed plenty of checks — with our show making fun of Christians."

Last November, "South Park" targeted the Church of Scientology and its celebrity followers, including actors Tom Cruise and John Travolta, in a top-rated episode called "Trapped in the Closet." In the episode, Stan, one of the show's four mischievous fourth graders, is hailed as a reluctant savior by Scientology leaders, while a cartoon Cruise locks himself in a closet and won't come out.

Stone told The AP he and co-creator Trey Parker "never heard a peep out of Isaac in any way until we did Scientology. He wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin."
The end is nigh, although honestly, the Chef character was barely in recent episodes anyway

Yet he happily stood by when the show mocked religion such as Christianity and Jewish? Here's the deal: Isaac Hayes said in numerous interviews that he was fine with the show riffing on Scientology when it aired several months ago. The fact that he quit now shows that he was probably pressured to by higher-ranking CoS officials. The people in charge obviously demand that their celebrity converts be very vocal and supportive of the religion, since they're the least-creepy aspect of Scientology in most people's eyes. It's not Hayes' fault really :(

Also, how long before this thread becomes another religion-bashing flamewar? Because I would like to avoid that kind of thing if at all possible and remember the good times :):(

So Tom Cruise has apparently not taking nicely to the crude show, and has had Viacom, the company producing M:I 3, force Comedy Central to cancel the premiere of season 10 which was originally to air on the 22nd of March (This Wednesday).

Viacom demanded Matt Stone and Trey Parker not to discuss Tom's douchebaggery to avoid embarrassing Cruise as they did Isaac Hayes last week when he quit the show.

All I can say is I can't wait to see how they respond, and I hope to the gods of jelly that the premiere still goes ahead. C'mon Comedy Central, grow some balls!

(P.S. - Sorry for the poor linkage. The actual post on Page Six was taken down and replaced today, and I can't find a proper source)

The same could be said about every religion, seeing as we have next to no definative proof that any religion is in fact reality.

Scientology is scrutinized based on the fact that its founder was a science fiction writer and the history of the religion mirrors a plot of a science fiction story, and the religion is called Scientology.

These space planes were said to have been copies of Douglas DC-8s, except with rocket engines. He then stacked hundreds of billions of these frozen victims around Earth's volcanoes 75 million years ago before blowing them up with hydrogen bombs and brainwashing them with a "three-D, super colossal motion picture" for 36 days, telling them lies of what they are and what the universe should be like and telling them that they are 3 different things: 'Jesus, God, and The Devil.' The traumatized thetans subsequently clustered around human bodies because they watched the motion picture together, making them think they are all the same thing, in effect acting as invisible spiritual parasites known as "body thetans" that can only be removed using advanced Scientology techniques. Xenu is allegedly imprisoned in a mountain by a force field powered by an eternal battery. He is said to be still alive today.
Yeah, that sounds like a perfectly normal thing for an adult human being to believe in.

And you can't claim it's the same for all religions because this one was started in the 1950's, by a science fiction writer.

If I were to start a religion today, how many people do you think would actually believe in it?

I'm merely stating that we have no proof that any religion exists, even Scientology.

This one (which I buy for a second for this reason) is stigmatized widely due to its origons, which are less than reputable.

Chef is back on South Park... Well, kind of
Barely a week after Isaac Hayes quit 'South Park' as the voice of Chef, Chef will return to 'South Park' for the premier of Season 10 tomorrow night, March 21. The episode is desribed like this:

The town is jolted out of a case of the doldrums when Chef suddenly reappears. While Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are thrilled to have their old friend back, they notice that something about chef seems different. When Chef’s strange behavior starts getting him in trouble, the boys pull out all the stops to save him.

In other … ummm … wait, what word means the exact opposite of "news". Whatever it is, say that and then "scientologists are ****ing insane." Because Fox 411 says that Isaac Hayes did not quit South Park. He loved South Park, loved playing Chef, loved the reaction by fans, appreciated the steady income, and wasn't bothered after the Scientology episode. Hayes was still performing some Chef songs in his concerts, long after the show aired in November. In early January, Hayes was asked about the show:

"Well, I talked to Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] about that. They didn't let me know until it was done. I said, 'Guys, you have it all wrong. We're not like that. I know that's your thing, but get your information correct, because somebody might believe that [expletive], you know?' But I understand what they're doing. I told them to take a couple of Scientology courses and understand what we do. [Laughs.]"

Just a week later, Hayes suffered a stroke, and has, like Katie Holmes, been almost constantly monitored by a Scientologist representative since. Freinds of Hayes tell Fox that Hayes did not quit South Park, did not issue any statements on his own about South Park, and they have no idea why someone is claiming he did. Best not to question it, probably. Xenu works in mysterious ways, my friend.http://www.wwtdd.com/index.php?type=one&i=748

You guys know he didn't leave, right? His agent or something said he wasn't doing South Park again, and Isaac cleared it up afterwards. I think it was yesterday I heard that, which will be why this episode still aired making Chef look like he was dead. I think they might have added the bit at the end after Isaac announced he wasn't leaving and had no plans on leaving the show.

Still, it was an awesome episode. I loved hearing Randy talk about how much they missed Chef, but he was off with his Super Adventure group, since it was so blatantly about scientology.

He is saying that all the new viewers are young teens, so unless you only just started watching South Park, his point is still valid.

Anyway, I just watched the episode on youtube and it was pretty good. Nothing special, but had a few laughs.

True, but what the hell does he expect?

This show isn't aimed for my grandparents, it's aimed towards, you guessed it! Young teens

No harsh feelings on you though.

Well, Chef hadn't been making any episodes lately anyway.

"So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! Yerp.

Just a question about the episode, is there an actual Super Adventure Club and do they actually believe all that crap and molest boys? I know their Scientology episode was accurate so I'm assuming this was as well. But who knows?

DanD
03-24-2006, 01:14 AM
Haha, no, there is not a Super Adventure Club that goes around molesting boys. It was just an attempt to mock Scientology.

bradc1988

Thought so, it's just that if there is a ridiculous idea like Scientology that's believed by so many people, I wouldn't be suprised that this Super Adventrue Club existed.

One of my favorite moments would be with that guy and that doll. Then the guy licks the bottom of the doll and Butters says "My Uncle Bob did that to me once." I was laughing so much.

The drama continues. Apparently certain scientologists abused to the fact that Hayes had a stroke in January, and released a statement of his absense from the show. This was posted on Page Six

"(Hayes is) at home recuperating and did not issue the press release which said he was quitting because the show made fun of his faith. That release was put out by fellow Scientologist Christina "Kumi" Kimball, a fashion executive for designer Craig Taylor … 'Hayes loves 'South Park' and needs it for income. He has a new wife and a baby on the way.' "

I am so lost on this whole affair. First I heard Hayes quit, then I heard the show was cancelled, and now appearantly it isn't cancelled and Hayes didn't quit. TV is so confusing at times.

Someone basically quit for Isaac Hayes (someone in scientology..he had like a monitor). He really couldn't afford to quit due to money issues. I read an article about it.

It seems like they're certainly leaving it up to Hayes. They could totally bring him back if he wanted to, or they could just leave him dead.

I loved Smug Off, although I don't think it compares much to episodes from season 8 or 9. The one thing I loved was Cartman making his way through San Fransisco, and Butters pretending to be a Jew and Cartman preferring Kyle.

Let's just hope they make a better episode next time. I think this episode was supposed to be the season premiere until Chef "quit", so they just showed this afterwards. Hopefully there will be an extra bit with Chef as Darth Vader who molests children.

I downloaded the first episode 10 episode where chef becomes a child molesterer. Very weird episode but was enjoyable for the most part.
They have done child molesterers to death now however. When are they going to start ripping Gimps?
