Hey guys, i'm a media production student in the UK (basically it's a film making degree) and i'm after a short (3-4 minute) (copyright free) piano instrumental piece. I'm not into classical music all that much aside from the odd bit of mainstream bach or beethoven but nothing big, so I want some suggestions. I'm thinking from something from over 50 years ago as this would exempt me from copyright issues, i've got a pianist who will be able to play anything I put in front of him.

ANYWAY, any suggestions?

The basic premis of the film being about a boy who wants to learn how to fly. I want something quite pretty, but still quite sad, I don't mind if its just part of a larger piece so long as it can last for over 3 minutes.

Anyone?

I know you said you don't like classical but Chopin's Waltz in A minor fits the description perfectly.
