I sound totaly noobish asking this question but i never play reggae or ska or anything, so im feeling kinda lost...or is it not that difficult really? if anyone could point me in the way of some inspiration it would be much appreciated

Hmm now ive calmed down I dont think its going to be too bad, I think it will be passible, but I know there are like some people who really know thier stuff on here about this side of music, Im not even really sure what I was asking

Okay.
Uhmm...
First I'd figure out what exactly you are trying to play.
Reggae and Carribean, are not the same thing.
If it's mostly jamaican style music, like Reggae, and Ska. I'd listen to Bob Marley for Reggae ( Carlton Barrett is God at the one drop ) and like some Desmond Dekker or Skatalites for Ska.
In general, ska and reggae are easy, and it is mostly, always, about feel.
However Carribean?
Soca? Samba perhaps?
That is far more challenging in my opinion to play.
I'd figure out what exactly you're playing, because we can't help you much.

Me thinks I'm gonna pull out. Well the teacher said we were to play reggae but tbh, I'm thinking it would be best to pull out. Not because I dont feel its within my ability but because theres so little time, details are so sketchy and she souldnt of confirmed without consulting us first
so useless thread maybe? but a vent none the less

Me thinks I'm gonna pull out.
That's what he said!
And maybe that's the best decision.

You've gotta feel the reggae, it's all about the grooves mon.
And the gaps in the music.

I agree with Lime:
Bob Marley
Desmond Dekker
Also try:
The Specials
The Police
Observe these bands and you should pick up a decent (if not quick) understanding of reggae and reggae feels :)
