I need to know two things:
1) What is the difference between stagg DH and stagg SH soundwise?
2) Has anyone got them/played them and if so what do you think of them?
Reason i wanna get them is cos I need better cymbals, dont need top of the range quite yet lol, and Im on a rather low budget.
I am looking for either hats or a 16" crash.
Cheers for the help!

The DH series crashes can sound pretty good if you find a good one.
The SH crashes are a pretty bad from what i hear though.

I played on a zildjian avedis cymbal... wasn't much better than my Paiste 101 lol
Anywho.... Psycho, have you got any audio of your SH crash?

Although, they had Paiste Alpha hats, which along with the amazing sound system, sounded absolutely awsome lol
So if these Dh/SH arent very good... then I either have the choice of Stagg Dh/SH, Sabian B8 or Wuhan S series. so....?

Well people were saying buy the expensive ones and loads of stuff, and I just wanted to know about a particular cymbal. Now everyone tells me they are crap then I guess I might as well keep the ones I have now, which everyone ALSO says are crap. Can't win lol

i have a stagg dh (16 inch brilliant) , and i say its not bad. I would reccomend saving, but if you need one soon then go for it. Theres a lot worse out there, trust me.

I have a stagg 16" brilliant series medium crash. It's not great, but I reckon it's better than most cheapish crashes. Better than solar (not that there is anything worse than them), porbably similar to B8 pro or something. Like, it doesn't sound that out of place with my kit.
I was in my local music shop a few months ago and the guy was saying that staggs are handmade, so the quality is very very variable, anything from dire for very good (though I suspect there are a few more dire ones about). So I say try out different crashes. After all, there were 2 different avedis rides of the same type there, and one I thought sounded great and the other I didn't like at all. Go try, I say.
I don't tbh think 101s are bad, at least not for their price range, so personally I wouldn't bother, go try them out and do what you want.
The thing is that asian cymbals are hammered differently, and therefor the quality is more variable than turkish cymbals.
Although I have cracked 2 of my Masterwork cymbals, but that is more likely due to the crappy hardware in the rehearsal room and my technique.
