Hey guys, i have a small few tweaks to my setup and a new pedal.
I've added the rotos and raised the ride so pics are here.
I also picked up at DW5000AD3 for foot percussion (will use it for my main pedal till i get a double in 2 weeks and/or a foor perc mount.)
On to the pics.
The kit.

Why aren't you using the full Janus set up? Aren't they really expensive? Seems like a bit of a waste, unless it was a feel/ease of use thing. Even then you probably should have tried it before purchasing it. I have heard that they are prone to breaking down, is that why you are getting new pedals?

My cousin has the Janus tranni system as well. It's a great pedal and it feels awesome.
The whole idea is very innovative but for how much i use the double pedal, it's just not worth it. I tried the pedal extensively before buying. I would imagine if i didn't use the double pedal as much as i do with my band i would not be considering a new pedal.
Another thing is that the screw holding the two pieces of the direct drive slave pedal keeps coming loose. I used loc-tite on it and it worked for a bit but then it came out again and i found the screw fairly mangled so I'm just going to try and sell it and buy the 5002.
Yes it was a very expensive pedal and yes i have learned from my mistake. But i paid for all of my drum gear myself and research extensively before buying. If i had known this would happen i wouldn't have bought it.

You said the double pedal is direct drive? I don't understand how that could work. Picture please? Also, when you switch to double bass, do the hats fall, or do you have to use a drop clutch? I own a double now, and don't use it extensively, it's more of an extra flavor. This system, if it was ever improved, seems like it would be something I would like to look into.

The slave pedal is direct drive, the main is chain/strap.
When you move over to double bass, the hats stay open.

If you already have a high-end double pedal, don't bother getting this. It's $500 i could have put towards something else.

Isn't it a bit awkward to have to types of drive systems? Or is it not much of a difference? I just bought a Pearl Powershifter P-122 TW for $80 a week and a half ago. I don't think I will buy one of these things anytime soon, but as I have never played anything "heavier" than something similar to "The Calling" I think this pedal could be something to look toward with improvements and a lower price. Could you tell me about compatibility with a Cobra Clutch or a regular drop clutch?

It wouldnt work with a cobra clutch due to you using the same footboard for hats and double bass.

what Phil said.
You would be better off just buying a drop clutch that you put on your hi-hat rod...i had one for a while but i took it off because it kept coming completely unscrewed.

Ok, thanks. Probably not something extremely useful in it's current form, but I'll check again in a few years. Where did you find the coated pins? I have never seen more than one or two at a time, and they are always 16". I'm looking for that thump that only Emperor's or Pins can give you.
As long as they make them they can be ordered.

What heads are those on the roto toms?
I've always thought that coated heads would kind of ruin them.
And are they muffling rings too?
Pinstripes?
