Unfortunately we can't change names in this particular forum, because none of the moderators on the reviews site have the ability (power) to do so. If they could, I'm sure they would. However, having a name like SynGates is the cross you have to bear, unfortunately; alternatively, you could just register a new account and re-rate your albums. If you've written any sound-offs or reviews, you may copy them to Notepad or something and then re-submit them on your new account, and the mods can delete the ones on SynGates, if you'd prefer.

EDIT: I looked and you haven't written anything, so if you really want to distance yourself, come up with a different username and re-register, and from there, re-rate your albums and add in your favorite bands and so on and so forth accordingly.

If they're substantial enough, write an introduction to the band and post it in the muse threads that's a few pages back. If it's relatively bare, try writing an article on the band incorporating the quotes to make a coherent whole. It'll need to be in excess of an MS Word page and well-written, but you can post a rough draft in the thread and maybe get some help if you need it. After that, it's up to mx whether he wants to feature it.

Hey, if you change your password, does it still take a day or so to log-in to the reviews site? 'Cause I drove across the state for my spring break and I use my parents' computer since I don't have wireless here. Anyway, I couldn't remember my password on my laptop, so I changed my password, but can't access the reviews site. I know that this was the case a couple months ago, but I don't know if this got fixed, or something is goofy on my end.

Is there any way to fix the way that the charts are set up?

For instance, the 1960s chart has an album with 3 votes at number one, and one with 2 at number two. There are many albums that place high up on the charts elsewhere but only have about 12 or even fewer votes.

Now I know that it is probably hard to fix that, but there has to be a way. http://www.progarchives.com has a top 100 list that is set up incredibly well between rating and amount of votes and what not.

When you wrote "again" in your post, he thought (as did I) that a review had already been flagged. You can't flag an album twice; for instance, say that Electric City's review was first flagged: his review will forever be flagged unless mx institutes a feature that allows flags to be changed.

As for the site's policy on flagging in general: it's only done when the default review is abysmally poor (as in, it was ported over from the CD Reviews archive, is a weak track-by-track, contains loads of bad spelling, grammar, spacing, and so on). In this case, the default is by an approved reviewer, and while a 1-of-1 is fewer in votes than a 7-of-8, the default isn't a review described in the parentheticals, so it's not going to get flagged.

i'm trying not to but i'm bitchy and seldom do my posts get deleted. i don't like it and just thought, you know, the guy is a putz for killing himself at 55 years old no matter what. let the band down, his girl, everyone. a very selfish move, IMO. i mean why wait that long and then do something like that? its not like he was old and sick and lonely. he could have gotten help. even if it was for the 1000th time....

oh and i know the answer because i have two years of psychology. but it just seems that once more life is behind you then in front what is the use? plus he was going on tour, was going to have a beautiful new wife, and his families statement was like "he was such a good man who gave to many so we understand and wish him well in the afterlife, etc...." and he left "two letters" explaining his motivation. the entire thing sounds ridiculous. killing yourself at 55 is just something i find very pathetic.....

Just giving you the heads up that the display for the band members is screwed up. It's listing the Bauhaus line-up, even though when I went into the editor it said that the correct line-up was filled in.

Just giving you the heads up that the display for the band members is screwed up. It's listing the Bauhaus line-up, even though when I went into the editor it said that the correct line-up was filled in.

I don't know if it's doing this with other bands. Just though you should know.

Yep, that's been happening with everybody - the news articles about bands have been completely removed, and Bauhaus is apparently omnipresent in every artist on the site, heh. It's something that will get changed in time, hopefully, although I'm not sure when this happened to begin with.

It's not delete-worthy just because you have a diverging opinion. While the user talks more about why the band is hated, once he gets going, he discusses the album, which is the purpose of a sound-off, yes? I agree that having all of the songs that aren't filler as recommended tracks is silly and that a giant chunk out of that sound-off could have been removed, but in the end, it doesn't even matter... er, I mean, the sound-off is far from being abysmal.

Of course, recall the Sputnikmusic Metalhead Fanboy Law: only 5's and 1's are acceptable ratings :)

Quick question guys... my old account (STFDood84) was banned a while ago for seemingly no reason... I had DFelon look into it and it was a sputnik-only ban but again, without apparent reason and it didn't list the name of the ban-er. I'm pretty sure it got hacked somehow. Anyways, I have a bunch of reviews under that name and was wondering if there's any way I could somehow merge the two accounts or at least if one of the mods could place the reviews under my new name (StrizzMatik).
